Why Mandy are you getting married.???

Please be honest! I'm 42, and inclined to be a bit short 'n' dumpy. I'm fair-skinned with very dark hair. Seen a lovely matching white blouse and skirt, but not sure if I'd look like an ageing hippy ... or mutton dressed as lamb LOL! Mandy

Too old to wear white??? Look on any seside coach trip for the elderly, they all wear white cardigans LOL Are you gettting married or something?

Mandy in Wiltshire Report 29 Apr 2006 19:22

I would say you would look fine in white, it will show off your hair beautifully. If you want it, go for it!

Ooooohhhh Mandy... you sound like me apart from the hair colour..... lol...... i have lots of white tops..... but my bottom would not look good in white, mind you ... right now it looks dodgy in any colour.... *Sue runs off sobbing * pmsl .

Ooops - answered before I thought of the surgical stockings! LOL I'm older than you and I would wear white - mind you I have a tiered white cotton skirt that I loved wearing until my granddaughter asked why I was wearing my nightie! LOL Go try it on - if you feel good in it - you will look good, no matter what the colour is. Mags xx

Thank you Dan. You'll have me booking the charabanc trip won't you? Thank you for kind comments. Sue, my rear end is not a pleasant sight but luckily fuller skirts are coming back in, and they're far more flattering. Mags, lol at the nightie! Wonder what my 17-year-old son would say? Something similar no doubt! Course, I could order online and then send it back if I look too much of a fright.

White isn't just for younger people, my mum is 81 and looks great in it. BUT it does depend on your colouring. I can only wear pure white if I am slightly tanned as I look like a corpse waiting to be buried otherwise. Not all whites are white - some are softer, tending towards creamy. The best way to see if this outfit suits you is to try it on. nell
