I was wondering the same, James, and you're right it is an addiction! Thought I'd cancel broadband, I've got to keep the phone line free, but then I'd probably stay up all night! |

I am afraid Christine you will have to have, either a mobile for calls or another line James |

Ok, so the broadband stays! I could ignore the 'renew now' on the screen - but that seems just tooooo drastic! |

~~~~~~waves to Sandy~~~~~~~~~ I know I was suffering when my internet connection was going so slow that I couldn't really use the site for a few days. It must be an addiction but for £7.50 a year it could be worse. Christine, if you're going to renew, remember to click on continous membership in your account details. I think you should still get it at £7.50. |
It is very worrying, as some forms of the addiction appear to change the personality of victim, as it gives the person the illusion that they own the site. James |
Sorry James I don't follow. (I'm not really awake yet) You think you own the site? What changes would you make if you did? x Lesley |
I am addicted too. I used to get up and put the radia or television on for the news. Now I turn on the computer and come on here. It stays on all day and I can't resist popping in and out all day. My husband says it's like being a nosy neighbour lol Linda |
It is continuous but I just had a look and it says £9.50. A few of us were on about it the other day and it seems there are three prices. Only difference seems to be time of joining, I joined a year ago and paid £9.50 so guess that's the price, but it is good value even so. I know the feeling about the lead balloon - have 'killed' a couple myself! |
LOL Fred James - it starts out as a daily fix and then the site takes over. Soon, it will be an all day fix. lol I'll have to get back to my proper addiction soon - genealogy. I'm sure your posts don't sink like a lead balloon. Your posts have always been interesting to read in my opinion. Christine, thanks for letting me know, I hadn't realised that. I'll have to keep an eye out next year to see what the price I will be paying. |
Right, that's it done, just paid the annual instalment for my daily fix - and it was £9.50! Maybe that's the Scottish price because they know there's no chance of selling me credits for Census etc. - just wish I only spent £9.50 per year on Scotlandspeople! Now THAT'S an addiction - who were they, oh there's another one, so who did he marry, what did he do, who's witnessed the marriage, are they on the next census, who's next door........ Sorry folks got to go and look |
You can buy patches at the chemist for addiction? But I dont think it would work on here so when you find a cure lots of people would like to know xxxx |
Howie, have checked the local Chemist, but they are only selling patches for smokers. They did say that the Government was setting up a Working Committee (WCFLH-GR), to look into the working hours lost to industry with staff looking for results on Genes Reunite on office computers. It is believe the current loss is running £1,000,000 a day James |
