My its been hard to fit in reading this month managed Brave New World and started Byzantium but no way will it be finished in time for the end of the month the book's sooooo long Norah

Not sure what you mean about the reviews Joy but it is not a competition, we just like to know what people thought of the book. I am sure you would manage. ann Glos

I have a confession to make - I may not be able to read one of them this month. I have nearly run out of time. And I am not very good at doing the review either (imho) especially after reading the reviews last month.

you will be very welcome Kaye. Unfortunately so far I have only managed Brave New World, so many other things to do this month. Will try to do better next month and do intend reading Byzantium as I have got it. Ann Glos

I shall probably re-join you all next month (June) - would have liked to have read the Stephen Lawhead one as I've already read a few of his books, but there's no way I could get through it in time - I will be interested to read the reviews of it though. I will have a scan of the books you've already done and see if I can suggest anything for June. Look forward to joining in. Kaye x

Elizabeth yes the numbers next to the books were the number of votes scored for that book. We each vote for two novels and one classic and we can't vote for our own choice. You may choose to read one two or three of the books that win. On 31st of this month we will review any that have been read. And I am going to fail this month because I have only read a few pages of Byzantium so far. I would advise anyone coming late to this months choice to avoid Byzantium because it is a BIG book. I intend to stop and read Brave New World. Mags just join in as and when you can. Join in at the start of the month with any suggestions you have (two novels one classic), then just review any that you manage to read at the review date. We don't run by hard nd fast rules here! As I said before, putting 'greaders' into search brings up all previous threads so you can read previous reviews. Ann Glos

Anne are numbers next to titles scores for books read. I emailed you and you said anyone can join so i'll try to get my hads on books. Do you need to read all books in list by a certain date or just so many?, and do you just post review on message board (general topics) as you can see Im very new to this. Regards Elizabeth.

Thanks all, I'll have a look at the other threads later, and maybe look for the books on ebay lol. I get most of my shopping that way hehe.

Hi Ann I'd like to carry on if possible. I've only just started :-) I must admit I am finding getting through 3 books a bit of a task with all of the other things I like to do, but I know I don't have to read them all! Jeanette x

Margaret do join us, we seriously need ne blood, we suggest the books we want then vote on them. Thanks Maz for explaining, Margaret it would be a good idea to read all the greader threads to see how we do it and the sort of books we have read. Sometimes I buy the book, sometimes get it from a charity shop or order from the library. Unfortunately in this area ordering from the library seems to tak a while which is frustrating. Ann Glos

hello Mags, nice to see someone interested! we are really flexible - you can read 1, 2 or 3 of the chosen books - we do it on a monthly cycle. if you search the board with the word 'greader' you will see our previous threads and get an idea of how it works. next reviews are to be added at the end of May - as short or long as you like, just tell us what you thought of the book(s) you read. I don't buy any of them - I order them through the library - the cost is usually around £1 per book. Maz. XX

Hi there, I'd like to join your readers group, but could you let me know how you work it? Do you have to read all three books by a specific date etc? I'll try to get hold of the books, I read at least one or two books a week, but usually from the charity shops. I'll see what I can get. Mags. x

hello Ann, I wondered about this! well, I would like to continue if at all possible - hopefully there will be more than just us 2!! I have already read Brave New World and written my review (I'm such a swot!). I sent Byzantium back to the library as it wasn't for me, but I am reading Witchfinders and finding it really interesting. Just the sort of thing that Dee would like funnily enough! lets wait and see if others are keen too - I really hope so!!! Maz. XX

Hi All Sadly we have now lost Dee from Greaders as she has left the boards and doesn't have time to read the monthly selections. Can I ask if we think that it is viable to continue Greaders in its present form? If you want it to continue I will do it but do you think that 3 books a month is too many? Has anyone any suggestions? If we can get something sorted I will put another general thread up on the board. Incidentally I have not started either book yet so will have to get a move on. I only intend reading two this month. Ann Glos
