I wonder, am I the only one who uses tea leaves? Really can't abide bags as they have no taste. I know they are more simple and less messy but give me Sainsbury's Red Label any day. Anyone for a REAL cup o' Rosie? Aileenx

Jim are you okay? You seem to be the day's ' grumpy old man'. LOL I don't drink tea, haven't for years. BUT you would never have thanked me for a cup of my tea!! My husband likes what he calls 'a nice round cup of tea'! Nothing to do with the shape of the cup!! LOL Deanna X

I'm a tea bag first, boiling water second and milk third kinda girl myself too. This morning though as soon as I poured the milk in, the milk turned to yucky lumps. The milk didn't smell off and date was OK - don't know what they put in it to make it like that. Anna x

When one particular lady did the 'tea run' in the office, I always got her to leave the tea bag in my mug and that I would put the milk in myself. Her tea didn't even make light beige! Think I've told this story before - but the girl who sat opposite me went through a phase of drinking green tea and had put her mug, with the said green tea bag in, on the tray when another girl was doing the run. She came back to deliver the filled mugs saying 'It didn't look very strong - so I dunked Mags' teabag in it' lol Mags xx

I'm with Jim on this one. I consume about 12 cups a day and it has to be very dark in colour and the milk goes in last.

I've made it both ways and it's always tasted the same. Tea is an antiseptic which is why people always used to drink it, to help ward off any diseases going round.

sounds like a perfect cuppa, except for the sugar I'm sweet enough already. The bacon buttie would be nice though :)

One warmed cup. One teabag in said cup. Boiling water direct from kettle before being turned off. Walk away for 2 - 3 minutes. Return to stir with spoon, that was NOT in cup prior to this. Add several large spoonfuls of sugar and stir again. Walk away for another minute or so. Return to play with teabag, stir, mulch and stir again. Lift said teabag out of cup and squeeze for maximum colour and taste. Add small amount of milk ... to change colour of liquid, not the flavour of the drink. Stir again and taste. If not enough sugar, add more as required. Hot, strong tea taste and sweet.:-) Oh, and don't forget the Bacon Buttie ........... ! Elaine ;-)

My Nan always said the tea should be scalded or you won't get the best flavour. So, I always put hot water in first, then the milk once I have squeezed the life out of the bag. After all, when we used teapots, we didn't put milk in them did we?

Jim is quite correct (as is usually the case). The milk must go in last.

Not you Dawnie. I refer to the tea vendors who can't make a decent cuppa, they are the idiots. You are just untaught. xxx

If it's just TEA why did our ancestors keep it under lock and key? Sell the used leaves to the rag and bone to be reuse by the poor? Throw it over board in Boston?? And sit down to drink it in war and desert??
