That is what I called it a Bungalow Bath and I know we were still using in it in the 50's my mum got a flat in very 50's which had a bath but not a bathroom She never got a place till very late on with a bathroom. Margaret

A zinc bath is the type we used to bath in before everyone had bathrooms. Bath night was every friday so we were extra clean for the weekend. It is metal coated with zinc, Like the old wash tubs..... don't suppose you know what they are either, saaaad.

Remember it well. Always had to make sure the cold water went in first otherwise it was rather hot on the bottom ( mine and the bath!!!!!!!). Linda

Hi Daniel, If you want a pitcure of one I have a zinc bath hanging on my outside wall. Up until about 14 years ago it was in use.

A zinc bath is something in which I and my siblings used to be bathed when babies!!!

*Pictures the old tin tub from nan's by the hearth* cricky! just remembered that my parents still used a tin tub when they were teenagers! dad in the kitchen or in his nan's kitchen and mam in her back kitchen (they had 2 kitchens! 1 for food prep and the other had the boiler and fule oven!
