That's good Suzanne - and carriage driving too. That looks elegant too. My BiL's Liz won Horse of the Year Show carriage driving a few years ago, and constantly wins at all the big shows. They breed Welsh Cobs. My horse was a dressage master, and did all disciplines, a good all rounder. I put on so much weight and look like a dumpling - not elegant at all - but it comes in handy when you fall off - because you bounce.....

A friend of mine has hunted sidesaddle---can't believe that, but she says she felt perfectly safe. Gloria :-))))

Well I have to say I'm shocked, surely it was obvious that this was about horse riding ? lol

I learnt to ride sidesaddle about 16 years ago. It makes you sit up straight in the saddle and looks very elegant I found it a very comfortable way to ride as I have arthritis and sometimes riding astride jars my hip /back. I enjoyed learning to ride side saddle, I want to learn to drive a carridge next......have fun Sue

As long as you dont mix up your leaping and hunting heads and do your girth up, your OK with the saddle - also sit up straight With the other, try not to laugh too much, or it can all go to pieces (so to speak)...

Horses? Gott in Himmel they are too far off the ground and no parachutes. Motorbikes are safer, but not sidesaddle. len

Yes I've tried it but I felt totally unsafe - I suppose with plenty of practice you might get used to it! Debby

Yes I have tried it side saddle but found that the leg under the pommel felt 'odd'. I don't like riding bareback either. Much prefer to ride astride with 2 stirrups. BTW, I am talking about horse riding!!! LOL Viv
