I want to share with you, my new friends, the greatest news ever! It will be the first time I've mentioned my family research on here! Denise

I grew up never knowing any of my mum's family cos my (not very nice) father had made her lose touch with them all. She had 4 sisters & one brother. All my life I dreamt of finding her family for her. My first day on here in January I found an aunt, my mums surviving sister! And two cousins! In April I went to meet them, but my mum wanted to leave things as they were. My sister & I have hoped & prayed she would change her mind, and today I found out she has written to her sister! And her sister has replied! They are reunited!!!! Share my joy!!! Denise

I keep smiling to myself at the thought that I found my mum's sister for her! And I've got 14 cousins, met two, and their children, and even one's grandchild! But is it weird to also feel sad that it's too late to ever know 3 aunts & an uncle??.. they all died in last 10 years. If only I'd started looking earlier! It was so ridiculously easy too! I want to shout to the world not to leave it too late! D

Denise, we can all say if only, but it took your mum a while to pluck up courage to write and that is the main thing, you showed her the gate, she opened it herself and I am sure one sister is a huge gift to her. She hopefully can learn from that sister what her other siblings were like and meet some of their offspring in time. And don't forget that they will all be waiting when her and her sister's time comes and that will be another joyous reunion. Well done to you for finding your aunt, and to your mum for writing the letter. Hope you all enjoy many happy hours getting to know one another. Liz
