Harry, You're preaching to the converted about cookery programmes. But you don't usually get the normal schedule swept aside so that the two main channels can broadcast them for hours for weeks on end. Or have a load of incoherent oiks discussing the finer points ad nauseum later on. It's all wall to wall sport I object to, even the few I can tolerate. Gwynne |

The last line of your main paragraph above Gwynne, is spot on. I only switch on at kick-off time and off at the final whistle. Keep telling myself it,s a football competition not something really important, but I still watch. Good girl, Christine. Happy days |

The people driving about in cars with flags whilst the matches are on are the wives/partners of those at home watching! They are just tryting to escape for a while! Merry |

We all like different things, I like cookery programmes, find soaps boring and if I want depressing I can always read my bank statement, football is usually boring though some of the south American teams are entertaining, now snooker..............paint drying............I can cope for a few weeks, now come Wimbledon...................... Barbara..xx |

You're right Barbara - it doesn't do for us all to like everything, I'm not keen on tennis, or golf........and don't get me started on Snooker, or wrestling which my OH loves..... |

Gwynne, I'm very disappointed with you. Always thought you were very reasonable. LOL Not everyone can afford digital or satellite. When I last looked there were 5 terrestial channels... for the next 4 weeks 2 of them will be taken over by the beautiful game. That leaves 3 channels that can show all the drivel shown the rest of the 48 weeks by all 5. Please, please, please let me watch all these gorgeous young men displaying their fine skills without feeling guilty. Jean (who wishes she could afford to go to the world cup but has to rely on the telly) |
