Has Cliquot got a collar with bells on Diana? I always bought extra bells for my cats' collars and never saw them with a bird, even that twitch the cats do while they are stalking, made the bells jingle. Sad to see young birds maimed or killed before they have a chance to become cat-wise! Liz |

Talking of cats reminded me of this poem. Cats Sleep Anywhere Cats sleep anywhere, any table, any chair. Top of piano, window-ledge, in the middle, on the edge. Open draw, empty shoe, anybody's lap will do. Fitted in a cardboard box, in the cupboard with your frocks. Anywhere! They don't care! Cats sleep anywhere. Eleanor Farjeon (1881 - 1965) This is a verse my son learned at school and a little lad I looked after for 6 years, used to love this rhyme. Liz |

How about this one Diana, TIGER-----by Paul Gallico Tiger, tiger burning bright, Blazing headlamps in the night Some immortal hand or brain Has taught me to keep out of rain. When the storm clouds shroud the stars, I take shelter under cars, When they go, the passing showers, I come forth to smell the flowers. With the tears from Heaven rent, Blossoms synthesize their scent. He who smiles this work to see Also smiles since He made me. Tiger, tiger burning bright Shining orbs that pierce the night, What immortal hand did make Me and also William Blake? Vivienne xx |

When we had cats they use to catch a whole load of things as we live near to large fields these included rabbits, moles, birds, frogs, fish & grass snakes!!.... we got quite apt at saving these where possible usually using a plant pot (don't ask)! our downstair loo was a makeshift animal rescue centre complete with box of straw & water bottle!! The funny thing was they were both scared of our dwarf lopp eared rabbits & use to cower when we let them out! Miss them both now though unfortunatly one was knocked down by a car several years ago (after living 12yrs nxt to the main road!) & the other had to be put to sleep last year as had a brain tumour. |
