Hope you don't mind getting the opinion of someone you don't know! I have read the general board every day for about 18 months, and I can safely say there are only a very few (less than 10 people) who I can I can identify as being individuals and I don't confuse with someone else. And if you asked me to say who they are, the list shrinks even more!! LOL Ummmmmmm........ Merry (from Tips) |

Hi Harry, I can understand what you mean. I've only had 2 names on here (apart from the fancy dress threads). I used to have my full name until it was pointed out to me that that may not be wise so I used my school nickname and I always sign my name. Gwynne (sometimes at Christmas I decorate my name but it's still Guinevere) |

I changed my name for two reasons. One coz it would be confusing with Pink and because my name has always been misspelt and I find that highly irritating (irrational but it bugs me - what can I do?) and two because my surname is very distinctive and sadly there are enough fractures in my outlaws family without them misreading or taking the wrong meaning from any of my witterings here. It just wouldn't be worth the aggro lol Dianna |

I just changed my surname, a fewmonths ago, was Butterworth, got maried last year and was sick of seing my old name so changed it to Woodcock. It's no improvemnet, but there don't seem to be many catherine's around. So I assume everyone know it's me, esp as I have been on here for a long time. There are some great names though, I'd be worried to change mine to a fun one, incase you didn't know who I am. catherine xx |

Hi Harry, Sorry, have only just spotted this thread. I changed to Derbyshire Dancer after I had been communicating with someone researching in Derbyshire. We got talking and I mentioned that I used to go Line Dancing. In the next reply, he referred to me as the Derbyshire dancer ........I liked it and decided to adopt the name. I always have appreciated the friendly feeling that you get from pet names, like Smiley Sammy, Devonshire Dumpling to name just a couple (hope they don't mind :-) ) .... and just jumped on the bandwagon so to speak. Elaine ;-) |
