I was just reading my magazine whilst eating lunch and there was a picture in the article of a teacher writing on a blackboard, but the caption said he was writing on a whiteboard. I know for a fact this is not correct as the board was the same colour as my winter boots and the same as my car (which the sales man assured me was black, and it says black on the registration!). So if black is now called white, what do they call white these days - this is all very confusing for foriegners learning the language |

Is there a problem with calling a blackboard a blackboard then.? If they must change the name, call it a chalkboard......or is there a problem with chalk as well? |

My Daughter was on about writing on the whiteboard the other day, I said we had Blackboards in our day so she said it is Black but we have to say White now. As far as I know that is the colour they have to say and if that is the case they should change the colour of the board. Tracey.x |

It would appear so. A chalk board is an excellent idea - it is more correct then a whiteboard |

Its daft isn't it? A whiteboard to me is the type you have in most offices that you use markers on. A blackboard is black for gawd's sake..... Black people are happy to be called Black so what is the issue? ;o( |

Its nothing new A blackboard is now known as a chalk board, and has been since the late eighties. A white board is used with white board pens, special pens like felt tips which can be wiped off with ease. These pens come in a variety of colours. Interactive white boards are connected to a computor, and using a special wand/pen enables teacher and child to interact with whatevers on screen, or simply write. We have these boards at our primary school Elaine x |

well now about the coffee - it must be known that what was called white coffee must now be called Green coffee and what was black coffee is now white. so in order not to confuse people I suggest you carry some coloured or is that black flash cards. |
