That's the one Mags. I thought it was great but my daughter didn't. Once again, I think you have to be at a certain stage in your life to enjoy certain films, don't you? As a kid I wouldn't miss a Jerry Lewis & Dean Martin film. My cousin and I used to go to the pictures regularly on a Saturday afternoon with my Mam and Aunty. My Aunty couldn't stand them so she used to tell my Mam to hid the newspaper whenever she saw a Jerry Lewis picture advertised!!

Oh and Mags, I also saw Meryl Streep in a film recently where she played the role of a psychotherapist which I thoroughly enjoyed. Can't remember the title now ....... As you have probably realised, my favourite films tend to be those which depict real life situations. Margaret

Mags, That's what lots of people have told me. Others have told me that it took them ages to 'get into' the book. So, seeing as I'm a bit of a slow reader, I thought I'd go and see the film first to help me get through all those pages. My son thought the book was great but thought the film was a bit too long and drawn out. I'll see on Friday. That's her Christine - Pauline Collins. Actually Shirley Valentine could not appeal to everyone but I think that most married women with a family would relate to something in it. I found it very therapeutic! Margaret
