Purple **^*Sparkly*^** Diamond Report 29 Jun 2006 03:02

How strange that there should be so much info on this thread about bra fitting, as I have been trying to find time to go for a fitting for weeks now, and actually measured myself today to give me an idea so whatever I was told wouldn't come as too big a shock. Then I couldn't find the bra brochure which explained how to work out size so thanks, ladies, very helpful. I thought that woman looked stunning after the makeup, hairdo and stuff, she had such a sparkle in her eye and a lovely smile, and obviously felt so much better about herself. Not sure if I would want to be put high up on a hoarding tho!

Well ,I ha vent read all the replies on the thread BUT,in my case I would be happy to pose naked AFTER i had a tummy tuck,Liposuction on the thighs ,a breast reduction & lift, and a lower face lift. Would be a very confident girlie then & anyone could look at my pics , very discrediantly posed of course.

Linda - tell your daughter to look at the fake boobs on Big Brother - that'll put her off! A friend of mine was seriously considering it (she is the same as your dau but age 43) but since seeing Lea, Suzy etc has decided most definitely against it! When she has kids they may boost a bit - mine did - also some find that going on the pill helps too! (don't take that the wrong way please!) Maz. XX

A brand new bra should only be able to be done up on the very last hooks...... as when you wash them the elastic stretches and hence you can move them up the hooks as necessary!! And Dee yes it is the elastic that should support not the straps!! :o)

I didnt see the programme, as I said earlier. BUT I do know that a bra should be fairly tight around the body, as it is this, and NOT the shoulder straps that should give all the support. For those of you who feel embarrassed about going for a fitting...there is really no need to be whatsoever! And having a correctly fitted bra will make you feel so much more comfortable! Dee x

I thought it was good that women were encouraged to make the best of what they have instead of going under the surgeons knife. I agree that in my experience its the super confident woman that men love regardless of size . I guess that most of us are not happy with what nature gave us. I am well endowed in the chest department & it drives me crazy trying to buy bras & bikinis. Then I overhear all these young girls with small breasts (Oh to buy an off the peg bra) discussing what size boobs they will have as soon as they have saved enough for the op!! Maybe we should all be a little more understanding & less judgemental Ang x

Didn't anyone think that the bra that the 'expert' fitted her with was a bit on the tight side on the back? And the knickers had the waist elastic in that really awkward place that always leaves you with a roll. Only the corset really worked ................... or so I thought ............ :-)))))))))))))))))))))))))))

I don't find the sizing works for me either, they usually have how to measure in mail order catalogues. The trouble with fashion is, that normally they only seem to cater for one type of figure at a time, and then you have to be the correct height etc, no wonder we get hang ups when we can't find anything to suit. The guy with the glasses, did you notice that awful earring thing he wore?

Thanks Maz and Christine for advice. I also agree with you maz about the smaller females. My daughter(16yrs) is 5ft 10ins size eight and only a 32AA cup. She hates her body and keeps saying that she would like a boob job. I hope she doesn't but then if she feel so bad then who am I to stand in her way. Perhaps she will feel differently in a few years. Ladies, Ladies....I didn't watch the programme....but surely you must know that if a lady feels attractive about herself, then others will find her so also! All these hang-ups about our hang downs, all this not wanting to be seen naked...all the angst about what size we are! Soooo off putting to the male of the species (I would think anyway - c'mon guys reassure us)! Be happy with what you are! Make the best of what you have! Dress to kill no matter what size you happen to be. Believe you are gorgeous! Dee X

Linda - take a mate with you to M & S - the ladies there are very good - you don't even have to take your bra off you know!! (well she didn't make me when I had mine done after the kids were born!) I agree with Elaine here - most of these type of programmes tend to deal with well-endowed ladies - how about something for those of us who struggle to fill an A cup?! I can identify with the bottom halves, but not the tops! oh and I would KILL to have a waist like hers! I thought she looked fantastic! Maz. XX

I watched the programme and I was really happy for the lady on it. How nice she regained the confidence not only to undress in front of the camera, but to go naked wow!!!!! what an a achievement. I could never do that I don't even own a full length mirror. Christine I tried the bust measurements and they don't work out for me. They tell me I'm a C cup well I can tell you that I'm definately rather larger than that. I always have trouble getting a bra to fit., also too embarressed to go into shop and get fitted. Lindax

Same for blokes, girls! Size shouldn't matter! TeHe! However. I watched the program and thought the guy did an excellent job building the womans confidence. She had a quite pretty face, which wasn't mentioned other than when they did her hair, but the the final result when they did her makeup etc was very effective, and drew your attention.

It was good!! really enjoyed it but what were those glasses that man was wearing????? Bra's - if it rides up at the back - its too big.... go down a back size and up a cup size..... for instance if you wear a 36D and its riding up then try a 34E and you'll find its a better fit!! xx
