Is it worth subscribing to the Ancestry web site ? The way I see it I get to look up unlimited births, marriages and deaths for the subscription but If I use the 1837 on line I have to pay to view - Have I got that right? I really want to get into this but am looking at the most cost effective way of doing it

Ray Ancestry definately. There is a web site that gives a discount, worked out £58 for the year, it's Lost Cousin's or something like that. Someone on here will know. Kim

I'm just looking at the options. My parents are quite into it and I thought that getting them started would make a nice gift - they are coming up to their Golden Wedding Anniversary.

What a smashing gift and something quite different - well golden... Yep recommend Ancestry. but you can access birth deaths and marriages on FreeBMD for free but not complete yet but its what Ancestry use anyway. 1881 census via Family Search.org is free Dorothy
