Hi Harry, as you know I live in France. I drink the water out of tap. My husband insists on bottled water. Only because everyone seems to buy it here. Make it last longer by filling bottles from tap. He has'nt a clue, bless him. Hilary. |

Tut tut, Hilary. Glad to know I,m not alone in my views. Probably stems from drinking from reservoirs and streams when I was young. Now that was real water. Thanks to all for your interest. Happy days |

Interesting thread Harry, and such a coincedence. Only today,I bought a bottle of water, from a shop within the local Hospital. I said to my daughter, this tastes awful,my tap water tastes 10 times better. Yes I am one of the lucky ones, to be able to drink my tap water. I live in Devon. trish |

You are quite right Harry. BUT, I'm a lover of soda water, so I buy it all the time. I drink such a lot of water. We did buy a soda maker once but the cartridges were difficult to buy. Deanna X |

We used to buy bottled water but it became too expensive so we bought a water filter instead. Our water comes from the Thames -it would be interesting to know how many people it's been through before it gets to us. |

Harry - when I was younger and lived in Yorkshire I drank the tap water all the time it always tasted so good. Have lived in London and now reside in Norfolk and have to say that I very rarely drink the water as the taste is horrible, so usually drink bottled. Lindax |

If Manchester and district water tastes so good, why are united utilities such poor shares.? Interesting replies, wasn,t aware of so many regional and perhaps national differences. XXX thanks Barbara re below. think someone suggested that happens to bottled water as well.X Happy days |

I buy the ones where I like the taste, also number 2 daughter is happy to take bottles of water in her packed lunch for school, no rows about fizzy drinks, wouldnt keep refilling a plastic bottle, its supposed to be bad for you, due to stuff leeching from the plastic into the drinking water............... regards Barbara..xx |

Harry As Peter Kay says 'Why does mineral water that has trickled through mountains for centuries, have a ' use by ' date'? Must be the plastic bottles? I live in Northumberland and the drinking water we have comes from Keilder, tastes smashing. Mau :0) |

Until March i avoided drinking water from a tap or a bottle...didn't like the stuff! After the Sahara trek where water was essential and came in a bottle for health reasons i have developed a 'taste' for it as long as it is nice and cold. I drink from the tap at home, the water cooler at work and if out and about and want a drink i buy a bottle of water. I can't really taste much of a difference between the lot, and certainly wouldn't pay the extortionate amounts charged to drink bottled water at home! Yvette |

I buy small bottles of bottled water occasionally for the BOTTLE, I then fill them up from a plumbed in water filter system. |
