I went to a club in maidenhead called 'The Valbonne' and danced all night..... when i wasn't swimming in their pool that is!! ;o) There are some delightful pictures of me soaking wet, in my pink and white candy striped trousers and white top with my white bikini underneath, looking very worse for wear!! But oh to have that body (size 6/8) again that i so didn't appreciate then but it didn't scare grown men off like the one I have now! :O)

sat my o level english and sociollogy exams, and because they clashed had to sit in isolation between the two exams!!! Did have a party at village hall, didn't get drunk but made up for that on later nights out!!!

In my day it was 21 and hubby and I, whom I'd married at 19, sat in my parents' drawing room, believing the babe was due four days later! BIL and SIL came round, as did a few friends and relations but it was a very subdued affair! Mum cooked beef Wellington and I blew out the candles on my cake. Everyone had gone home by 7.pm. The babe arrived six weeks later. He maintains to this day that time means nothing to him! When I celebrated my 30th it was a totally different kettle of fish. The nine year old who'd kept me waiting looked slightly green but swore that he'd not even put a finger in the champers! Cherryxx

Sounds like most of you had a great time. I hope you're taking notes Daniel! I'll have to dig out my diary to find out what really happened on my 18th. I know I invited a few blokes I fancied. Thanks for your comments everyone, Carol x

Way back then it was your 21st you celebrated. I had a party and got lots of presents, and I was two months pregnant with first baby! Had some champers which made me sick..........cause didn't realise I was pregnant. Never touched the stuff since!

It was 21 in 'my Day' Parents treated my sister and two of my friends and me to a BOX at the theatre to see 'Music Man'. I was disappointed at the poor view from such illustrious seats but enjoyed the show. Lily

I went down the pub at lunchtime in school uniform (with my birth cert) and had a few drinks. In the evening I went out with my friends and boyfriend and got thoroughly bladdered. Gwynne

Hi Carol........well we didn't do anything special for 18ths then.....the biggie was 21......I had been married 2 years by then so threw my own bash......very low key by todays standards.....I am glad that they brought in the Coming of Age to 18 because youngsters mature quicker nowadays.

Like Joan...Nothing. It was just 21 in my day. Remember my 21st though, went to the pub with family and friends and was doing the conga down Brixton Hill at closing time. Also standing right by the kerb (very dangerous when inebriated) singing 'Big Spender' to all the traffic. Ah well we all enjoyed it lol Linda
