Would have to be an old stone built house, not square but with interesting shape/knooks and crannies. Set in beautiful countryside - has to be hilly and wild with trees and sheep. No main road in sight, no main road or motorway in earshot, no flight path overhead. No neighbours within about quarter of a mile minimum, log fires, large freezer to stock up on food through snowy winters, large garden fertile enough to plant loads of veggies that give huge crops, plus additional fields to use for a couple of sheep, goats, and to keep chickens. Plus a fishpond with geese and ducks. Summerhouse nearby. Reliable electricity and phone connections for computer etc, visited by well stocked mobile library specialising in family and local history. And most important, no mortgage. Not that I want much. Angela

hi joan, you must have had to work hard in the beginning, but it sounds like heaven to me ( freddie mercury ) i spent a few weeks in barrie, a suburb of toronto, it was nice, very clean, but not very different from most cities. prefer your lifestyle, and surroundings. bryan.

Hi Brian Yes! Smack in the middle of beautiful Alberta. Wonderful country - warts and all!Been here nearly 40 years. Ten years in Calgary and the rest here. Have always wondered how we could be so lucky to find this place. When we did it didn't have a road - just a forest track. Ten years before we got a road. It was an old homestead with a log cabin built in 1929 that we refurbished and lived in for 16 years until we had the house finished enough to move into. Raised all kinds of animals and lived in luxurious poverty.

I love the Isle of Wight and Cheshire so would love a nice house in either location. Not too big a place as I have an aversion to housework but the kitchen would have to be huge as i love to bake cakes and cook etc. The grounds would have to be big enough for me to potter around on evenings like this one, i dont have a garden at the minute, just a few pots : o ( I would love somwhere peaceful so that the (future) kids we have could run around and play in safety and there would have to be loads of wildlife to watch, esp a good dawn chorus from the birds. I live next door to a busy main road so all i hear at the minute is traffic! However, it would have to be within driving distance of a good shopping centre as i do have a bit of a passion for shopping, esp shoes......pmsl ahhhh maybe one day in many years to come......

sally, i have friends in midsomers norton, and it's fabulous. joy, would you help with the mucking out :o) yes, cilfrew is lovely, nice walks, beautiful views overlooking the valleys, and an amazing country park, with loads of waterfalls, lake, and a canal to walk along. bryan.

I would like an old fashioned cottage, with a cottage garden, in a village somewhere in Midsomer, so I can watch John Nettles solve all the murders and not have to buy the D.V.Ds. It must have a weeping willow at the bottom on the garden, and a shady brook which burbles over stones running along the back, there must be lots of birds for a dawn chorus ........just a dream......

Bryan your dream is mine to and I would like mine in the Lake district. Would also want to foster kids who need a loving home and animals to help heal them. Joan that sounds gorgeous! At the mo I'd just love a garden! Cazxxx

betty, you and val could become neighbours... never been to scotland, but was invited by a friend to stay in the shetlands, but when i saw the travel arrangements from london, and how it depended on the weather, i decided against it :o) jess, hope your dream comes true, you deserve it matey. bryan.

I'd pick up the house we have just bought and move it to the Norfolk coast, Blakeney area or therabouts. before we placed it down, we'd enlarge the kitchen a bit, oh and convert the garage , and put it on a large plot, over looking the sea. Jess
