Maz (the Royal One) in the East End 9256 Report 24 Jul 2006 13:37

for my in-laws. I have a few weeks to get it, but I'm on a tight budget. They don't have ANY common interests - except the grandchildren - and are VERY difficult to buy for as a couple. For their anniversary they are going to Canada for a lovely tour. I'm stumped lol so help please! Maz. XX

We got my parents a beautiful deep red climbing rose called Ruby Wedding. It is still climbing by their front door now 11 years later and is so lovely. Liz

Maz, Past Times do a lovely book called ' Memories.' It's aimed at grandparents and encourages them to write down all their memories so they can one day pass it on to their grandchildren. I bought it for in laws and they were delighted.

I agree with Lizzy,,,the rose is a great idea and not too expensive, I have given this as a present a couple of times,,,plus the one 'Silver Wedding' and also' Celebration'. My daughter also gave me a beautiful climbing rose named 'Wedding Day',,on the day she got married, I wrapped my gift roses up in the apropriate coloured paper and tied lots of streamer ribbons to it,

Maz, it was my parents Ruby anniversary last year, and they were given the ruby anniversary rose, they were not sure if they liked it at the time as despite being keen gardeners they were not rose lovers. This year it has flowered so much they are converted, lol Yvette
