Sunshine,I also have Fybromyalgia, fybro-fybroid tissue,my_muscle , algia-pain,it took more years than I care to remember for me to be diagnosed,It knocked my body clock to shreads,I thought I was going insane. My sister found it on the internet, printed it off, sent it to me,I thought I was reading my medical history.I took the papers to my gp and told hime this is what I have,He sent me to the hospital for a very simple test, and after years of trauma, hey presto I was diagnosed,It did'nt help the pain any, but the mental stress was eleviated. so go tell your gp you want tested for it, and do it soon, really hope this helps you, Isay a prayer for you tonight

This kind of illness (Fibromyalgia, Chronic Fatigue Syndrome, ME) is becoming so common, it must be due to the stress we all seem to be travelling under - life seems to be such a battle these days, do others agree? I am fed up with never feeling well, I am like a hamster on a wheel running and running but going nowhere, meanwhile my life is passing by and I cannot do all I want to do. Take care folks, Liz

Sunshine, Like I said the people diagnosed with Fybromyalgia know what they are talking about and its worth bringing it up with your GP. Its also worth thinking about though if you don't get any joy. ME symptoms are very similar, especially feeling like you have flu, tired all the time (chronoc fatigue) painful limbs etc. the annoying thing is you tend to look very well and it is frustrating when you are told how well you look when you have just had time off work and feel like a wreck. I tend to keep going and it is only when I stop, like at weekend that I find it a struggle to get moving again. I had numerous blood tests and nothing shows up, its the nature of the illness. The only thing they found was some food allergies. There is no real blood test for it. I seem to be improving and have long spells at work. I don't have odd days off sick, I tend to be able to go to work for a long time and then suddenly come to a standstill. See your GP and write down your multiple symptoms before you go as that was how my GP diagnosed me and I went to a specialist who confirmed it. Keep your chin up.

I was diagnosed with ME ten years ago and a lot of your symptoms sound very similar. However, all your replies state Fybromyalgia and they all know what they are talking about obviously. I noticed the pain in your feet thing is the same as something I seem to have developed and think I might take some of the advice you have been given. When I have been sitting, even with my legs up high or having done circulatory exercises, when I stand the pain is unbearable and it only goes when I 'walk it off'. It was a bit embarrassing in an Italian restaurant the other day cos I stood up and couldn't walk right away. Please make sure you see your doctor because if you are tired you don't want to end up coming to a standstill. I am back at work as some people with ME are a lot worse than me but I do have setbacks and had two months off in February this year.
