Excellent news - that's reallly made my day. JT is definitely the best man for the job and I'm not just saying that 'cos I support Chelsea (I like Gerrard too but he wouldn't be as good a captain for England). Carolyn

OH also said that Portugal would win the world cup back in May of this year!! so he ain't always right.lol OH says that I must have been mad to sit through 90 mins of the Sheffield Wednesday match on Tuesday - OH was right about that too - next time I will stay home and stick pins in my eyes!! OH says Sheffield Utd are pants and Neil Warnock is a ....... so it is soooooooooooooooo right about that!! pmsl, hope no blades are on here are we could end up in a right slanging match - ha ha Joanne

Due to the fact he has been a damed good captain for Chelsea, and has got the support of a lot of the footballers, I think he is slightly the better man for the job, I know Gerrard is a good captain also, but I personaly think JT is a bit more forcefull, and that is what England team need, Even my Arsenal son who hates any thing to do with Chelsea thinks he is the best man for the job. I'm glad John Terry got it - Lampard is good for club but was crap for country ( my OH says so ) and Gerrard well I like him as does OH but I think John Terry is better as what we lacked was bottle and hardness ( my OH says so ) and with Terry we'll get it ( my OH says so ) pmsl Joanne

Thanks Dianna, knew i could rely on you to laugh at me !!! LOL had rows in the sport shop today.. trying to buy new football shirts for two of the boys... all sold out. But there was loads of chelsea shirts left and one of the boys piped up 'well there would be loads left, they're cr*p and no one will buy them, theres no Utd shirts left cos they so good!!' I had to physically seperate them while they rolled on the floor!!!!! exited one very red faced mother!!!!!!

Foxy actually had you been paying attention the tabloids were evenly split 50/50 between Gerrard and JT!! The man does give 100% and deserves this!! And I would have said the same had Gerrard been given it!! xx

Nuffink to do with the fact the JT & Lamps are both Chelsea???? They are home grown talent and we should be proud of them!! :O) I'm proud of Gerrard and would have backed his captaincy even tho he's not a Blue!!
