Nope it's ours and no-one's getting it........so nyah ;-)p Aye Fort William is the gateway for the road to the isles........whur me n Polly staaay :-)) It's about 2.5hrs from Glasgow and we're another hour or so west...........Polly's station is the most westerly in mainland uk :-) Fort William's kind of a junction point for us............we have to go there to go either north, south or east........we're already west!! We live a few miles from Kirriemuir, Angus. Right on top of a hill. You can see for miles and miles. It's paradise. We have a bungalow on a farm. It's detached. A view from every window. I think I've died and gone to heaven. Only been here for abour 8 months but hope to get a lot more years yet. Marina |

I do! I live in Ardersier, midway between Nairn and Inverness. Never heard of 'plank' being lots of cash but I suppose that must be a lowland expression! Hope you enjoy your visit to Kirkintilloch. If you g**gle the name you should be able to find out quite a bit of info, or enter curiousfox and look at their genealogy site as there should be maps on there. It's in Dumbarton-shire. From there, you can if you wish head towards Loch Lomond area - lovely scenery, appalling roads. Or head up the A9 and you have lots of places to see etc, Stirling with the Castle and the Wallace Monument, the Bannockburn Heritage Centre as well. Then there's Callandar, perhaps go to Lochearnhead, beautiful area. Or you could stay on the A9 and visit the fair city of Perth; if you do then Scone Palace is a must - it's where all the Kings and Queens of Scotland were reputedly crowned. Of course, if you fancy a trip to Edinburgh (let me know and I'll let you have a list of people to look for in Records Office!!) there's Holyrood, the Castle, the Royal Mile is full of interesting things to do - I spent a whole day in the John Knox Museum! - there are theatres as well. Or of course you can spend as much time as you like in Glasgow - again loads to see and do there, both day and evening. Have a great time - hope the weather stays good for you Christine |
