He was my friend's little brother, taking a year out from uni - needed a shoulder to cry on and I had some Rod Stewart records and a bottle of vodka. Over 30 years ago now - we drink wine instead of vodka, but still like the old Rod Stewart stuff! Jay |

My husband had an affair with his wife, this resulted in her being my ex friend and him being my ex husband, 10 years later we met up while I was going overtime at the local pub and we have now been married over 20 years. Pam |

I met my OH through work, he used to bring me a cuppa in a morn, we all took it in turns to make a brew. I would catch him watching me from his desk, as I would look up, he would turn away. We finally got it together at a works charity doo I organised, his mate fancied me first, but I didn't fancy him. We are both good friends with that mate now. Strange the mates partner is called catherine too.lol. catherine xx |

he was in the RN, we lived near HMS Collingwood. groups of Navy lads used to come to our (Baptist) church where we had an after church youth group. we met on an after church walk. he overheard me saying I was going to the church garden party the following Saturday and he 'accidentally' bumped into me on the way, (with my little sister in tow). We started 'going out' from there - I was 15, he was 17, 1956, we got married 1960, 46 years at the end of this month. And we are still best friends and soul mates. Ann Glos |

We met at a New Year's Eve party which I wasn't really keen on going to but was persuaded to do so at the last minute. I had been widowed for 2 yrs after my late husband died aged 32. We met, danced, he asked for my 'phone number and now we've been married 28 yrs - happily. Stella |

At a mutual friends party in Dec 81. I told him that I would be 18 in a few days, he told me he would be 20 in a few days....It turned out that we shared the same birthday and have now been celebrating it together for the past 25 years. |

i went to meet mates in a nightclub. gave everyone i knew a hug then saw a face i didnt know. he was obviously with all my crowd, but i had never seen him before. not wanting to leave him out i just said 'i have no idea who you are but hello' and threw my arms round him. he says at that moment he thought that i was very nice but thought that wouldnt be interested in him. it took me about three months of pulling the rope in so to speak before we actually got together! that was 2 1/2 years ago (been engaged 2yrs!) tina x |
