We was all girls in our family as well so the name hasn't been carried on ...but Dad had 6 brothers who all had son...

Only bugbear is that I have to spell my married name every time I use it, but maiden name I wouldn't have had that problem. Sunny

Christine, that's the problem, it's such a hassle - and I don't think the passport people will change it will they? Or am I wrong as usual lol

I'm now stuck with a name that I don't particularly like - I was silly to change it.

Yes and no - I am currently divorced ( but living with a partner) and use my ex husbands surname, because it is quite unusual.

Asolutely not.My maiden name was Fasey and i was the butt of name calling when i was at school.anything from faceache ,bellyache ,toothache .to fizzogg.

that you didn't keep your maiden name when you married? If I was getting married again I think I'd want to keep the name I was born with.
