allow my daughter to vist her father when he asks even though when we were together it was an abusive and volatile relationship.I believe in my daughter making her own mind up and have said nothing of this until recently, as i know she is safe as they stay at his mothers, i also let her stay at her grandads my exs dad in some school holidays. I have put up with 10 years of comments made about me that my daughter has heard and conveyed to me but now have had enough. On the last visit to her grandads natalie had got wet and suffered a asthma attack the first in years so much so i had forgoten she had ever even suffered in the past, and forgot to put a inhaler in her bag anyway grandad ranted on all night what a irrasonsible thing for me to do, and went on so much it really upset my daughter she wanted to come home, so we went to get her. A few weeks later whie with her dad who for the first time i 6 weeks had natalie for a few days so i could go to the scotish meet, he knew the meet was tuesday but ranted on to natalie how i had dumped her and swanning of round the country, that i dont work cause im lazy, im on 12 lots of medication a day and have a autistic son, i have worked and brought up 3 kids single handed and been ill at the time, he has told my daughter that he wont give me maintainene cause it would go on me he also told her she is thick and takes after me when she broke down because she couldnt bare listing anymore he told her not to play up. She phoned me we left scotland 6am and went to get her these to men have never raised a family although her dad has 2 other children , it has now got to the stage where natalie has found things out for herself and can now choose wether she has further contact these 2 men have made me feel inadequate and sick

I don't know how old Natalie is, but my daughter was 16 when she finally realised what her father is like (irrational, alcoholic, addicted to prescription drugs) and she now has as little to do with him as possible. She's figured it out for herself. I've never put him down to her - deliberately so she could make her own mind up. He won't even speak to me now - just the occasional abusive e mail. He's done it all himself. Don't let the b*st*rds grind you down. I'm sure you've done your best for your daughter and your son. If you want the science bit what he's doing is projecting onto you how he feels about himself. It's his problem. Let him get on with it. I'm sure there'll be loads of support for you on this board. Oh Lorraine I know exactly how you feel. your daughter will make her own mind up she's not daft. Just ignore em they are just peeved cos you split up with their son. Well tough. Life goes on. You are very obviously happy with Mr Pussycat and that's what they can't stand. Let em stew you are a good mother, so the only thing they can do is be bitter towards you and call you names.
