Valice, Am a little bit confused as we are already in September. Never know it to be so hot in September before, but then we have never had a raging storm in August before. Normally, the transition from summer to autumn seems to happen over night, at the end of September. Not so sure about this year! Hope you have good weather when you arrive. Lindy ;-))

Lindy, make sure you keep some of that warm weather for us coming end of Oct, hear if you have an extra hot Sept there, it cools off rapidly end of August.

Jules, Sorry to hear that your weather is so depressing. Not that this is any consolation, 'the grass always looks greener on the other side' but having a holiday over here and living here is not the same thing. Stick with your holidays as you will always have great memories... Living here, at times, is a nightmare. ((( Hugs ))) Lindy ;-)))

Awww Lindy you have depressed me even more! We got back from a 2 week holiday in Gale yesterday, we are very depressed and keep saying things like 'this time last week etc'. Lots of love from a very enviable Jules in a cold, wet, miserable Southsea! XX

Hi Elaine and Mary :)) A CB meet sounds good but I will be a long way from the genealogy group. We are going to be north of Alicante, near Castella. I drive but will need to get used to the roads and driving on the right before I attempt such a long journey :( Linda

Hiya Ross, Great to hear from you! Hope you and Bob have settled in nicely. Just as a matter of interest Vitor told me to tell you that the drink Catembe has it's origins from a small village in Mozambique called Catembe. You must be in touch with South Africans in Madeira. As a young boy he used to catch the ferry boat to Catembe where they would go swimming. Coincidentally, he was also drinking Catembes last night as it is refreshing in this heat. Elaine Yes I do get CBN - will go and have a look. Rather a large area from Calpe to Oliva - I do not drive - only people up the wall - and hubby works so I am rather stuck. Off to read the CBN. Mary

Mary - do you get the Costa Blanca News ? I don´t - but normally read it on line - just had a glance at this week´s issue and there is a letter from someone who is trying to set up a genealogy group in the Calpe/Denia/Javea/Pego/Oliva area. Thought I might contact her and see what her ideas are. I am a member of Javea Computer Club and we have a genealogy group there - we meet up once a month (last Tuesday morning of each month) for a chat and get together.

Linda - are you moving to north of Alicante or south of Alicante ? Temperature here today quite pleasant at 32 degrees with a light cloud layer! A few people living on the Costa Blanca - may be we might think about a CB meet !!

Hi Lindy, Just got our ISP and so now back online permanently Here in Madeira, bit cloudy and a breeze, not sure of the temperature but only mid 20s. Spent yesterday afternoon in local bar drinking Catemba, and no ill effects. Hopr it cools down soon for you. Rosalind.

I'm off now as I have got more sorting, packing and binning to do ready for our move.....it's amazing what you accumulate in 32 years of marriage!! :( Linda

Hi Lindy We will be living in the Costa Blanca, Alicante region. I know the winters are going to be cold(ish) but that's ok as I am sure they will not drag on for as long as they do here! I live in shorts and t-shirts all through the summer, been out this morning in shorts and t-shirt despite the rain...amazed at all the big coats I saw! So I am looking forward to retiring in the sun.
