I used a company called Goldshield (Google) and they have really good offers. They do Glucosamine for humans and pets, my dog benefits from taking it too. |

Yes they do work......the dogs don't know what they are getting so they don't pretend.........A few years ago I noticed that Becky was having a bit of trouble when she first stands up...walks around with stiff legs..........I mentioned this to the vet...and also that I was thinking of giving her Glucasomine.......he suggested I get those that include Chondroitin....also that he could sell me some but that I would find them much cheaper elsewhere....( a helpful vet )...........after a few weeks of the tablets I noticed that Becky had no more trouble and was like a pup again.......she has been on them for about three years but now by neglect I have run out about a month back...the symtons did return.... |

Sally yes It certainly made a difference to my creaky painful knees!! was told it might take three months for the difference to noticeably ,BUT I was much better after only three weeks. Have been taking them for about three years now and feel they really help the creaks !! |

Purple, you must have been in there same time as me, I was stocking up too lol For me, I don't really notice if they are doing any good, unless I stop taking them, then I realise they are helping lol The same can be said for any of my treatments though, they don't feel like they are making a difference until I stop them, then I know all about it OUCH!! |

Do you notice an improvement Shirley, it was certainly good for the horses, you could see the difference it made, but of course you could not ask if they felt better for it....... |

Actually Colin, we gave the same products to horses for joint problems and general athritis with good results, and you can buy it at any suppliers of horse feeds and dog feeds around here. Perhaps you would need advice in adjusting the dose for your dog......an animal feed supplier would be your best bet, just google for your area...... |

Thanks Christine..............decided that Becky needed them now so have been to the supermarket..............bit expensive and over the usual dosage but will do until the supply from Channel Ilse arrives........... Another question I have another 14 year old border collie who has a growth on her rear leg...around the lower part...............went to the vet some months back and was told that there is nothing they can do......it will grow and unless she bites it to open a wound it should be OK......It has grown and now it has reached her paw....last night she started to avoid putting the foot down...................deaf but still happy...Does anyone have any knowledge or experience of this...........I will be taking her to the vets on Monday |

I get mine from Holland & Barrett, but they are a bit pricey. Mind you, I have the high strength ones. |

Sorry, Colin, my mum can't remember the name of the supplier but she also got hers from Guernsey. She had a leaflet the other week but got rid of it as she's getting them from our doc. Lorrainex |

My mum uses the glucosamine and chondroitin. She used to buy hers mail order but found it was quite expensive. I'll see if she can remember where she got them from. She now gets hers on prescription which, as a pensioner, she doesn't have to pay for. Lorrainex |

Thanks Jeaneete, Just been on various web sites and found Healthy Direct...looks OK....................I am discovering that the ones I had from Health Express were very low dosage......and that may account for their low price..................there is also a Woods so I may be sorted....will have to cut the tablets in half..... I live in a little Welsh place andwe do not have a large variety of shops,so mail order is the favourite Cheers Colin |
