Really sad about his Uncle Herbert Dawson that he couldn't find any information on him. Must admit this is more interesting than Babs Windsor last week. Sue

The WW1 stuff was fascinating and his bit to camera at the end sums up why we all do this - inspirational.

I really enjoyed it as we finally got some depth about one generation. Pleased I'm not wanting to go to Kew in the near future, though Jay

excellent episode, made me wonder how my g-grandfather survived Gallipoli to then go and get killed in france in 1916. I have been to many talks on Gallipoli and believe me the conditions were horrid, men drinking their own urine cos they were so dry and thirsty.Awful, beyond belief. catherine xx I wish I could find his birth cert, it would make my visit to his grave in france so much worthwhile.

I always get very interested in other people's family history. It's like ''treading in their footsteps'' - I stood there with him on the 20th of June, the anniversary date of when his infant aunt was buried MM
