Haribo Report 18 Sep 2006 22:56

Well, I watched it and was quite impressed by the communication skills and maturity of a child so young. That doesn't mean to say that I 'believe' that he was reincarnated. He got many facts right, but he also got many things wrong..........And the mother, who was trying her best to come across as being flumoxed and astonished by her child was and does encourage these conversations about the' family' in Barra by keep questioning him. Nobody knows how much pressure she put on the child behind closed doors.

I thought it was very interesting and an enjoyable watch. Thanks Len.... Also did anyone see the 'The girl who's muscles are turning to bone' at 8pm on channel five before 'The boy who lived before'.

Hi Len, Only saw a little bit of it, but took with a pinch of salt part of the story about the boy who said he was his grandfather. His father said that when the boy was about 18months old and he was changing his nappy, the boy had said to him 'I used to change your nappy when you were my age' or words to that effect. If an 18month old managed to even say that amount of words especially in a sentence thats a whole new programme on its own!!

When my daughter was able to talk properly at about 3 years old , she told me she had been married - to a man with white hair .She said she had 6 children altogether but one had died when it was a baby . Her house had two lots of stairs and she wore dresses that came down to her feet . By the age of five she never spoke any more about it. I never had reason to question her about it but i never had reason to disbelieve her either. Having been brought up in a household where my father and grandmother were clairvoyant, things like this do not shock , they just add more evidence.

Is it too far to stretch the imagination.....when we are born, we inherit genes from our parents and forefathers, what about memory too... I have a fear of caves and potholes, is this just me, or maybe because my ancestors were miners.....don't know, but I wonder sometimes

Sally What is there to fear about caves and potholes? To change the subject (hoping you have all digested your evening meals), I read an account of a scientific experiment in which biologists trained some invertebrates to react in an unnatural manner to certain stimuli. Then they chopped them up and fed the pieces to others of the same species. Guess what? the memories were carried on at cellular level and the new generation reacted the same way to the stimuli. Not suggesting any cannibalism in Barra len

i watched that it was fascinating, how could people doubt that, we had a guy come in the shop today taht said he saw it and said to me, that kid could be talking bout anyone, white house by the sea, laughing i said yeh but the dog fitted and the names of people, i dont know why he watched it if he gonna pull it to bits just read connies thread on here, its fascinating, they do say at 5-7 they start loosing the memory of it as other things take over their time, my daughter started walking at 8 months old and talking abit so at 18 months old you could have a little conversation with her, but saying that wasnt convinced about that first person on programe last night maybe they were taking the mick

You ask what I fear Len - well I did overcome my fear of caves.....I forced myself to stay and overcame it......but potholes, I just shiver thinking about getting stuck or the roof caving in......especially potholes where they go underwater, under a rock ridge and come out the other side.....they don't know what is there......oooooooh..... I am not afraid of anything else, been scuba diving and parasailing.....would love to jump from a plane.....just potholes.....

Sally When I was a counsellor, working for a large counselling service, then under the auspices of The S. Bucks Health Authority, I had a client with an unnatural, hysterical fear of horses. Other than that she was of very sound mind. I referred her to a friend of mine, a Chartered Psychologist and hypnotherapist. He hypnotised her and 'regressed her' by 5-year increments to what was, apparently, an earlier life. She, it would appear, departed that former life in a stables, being trampled by terrified horses. TJ. The programme probably has been on before and is most likely several years old. Its hardly the sort of documentary that Channel 5 can manage. len

Well Len, that was a wierd story....coincidence? who can say.... I am open-minded and interested in anything unusual like this.....I have never seen anything myself, but my Dad had experiences of ghosts.....and he didn't drink......

Also, when I was counselling, I had a female client who could clearly remember events when she was a six months old. I would not dispute this with the client but expressed my disbelief to my supervisor, who was consultant psychiatrist at the local general hospital. Dr R. advised me that this was rare but not unknown, and some babies with abnormal development of certain areas of the brain may even recall the birth trauma. You live and learn. Keep an open mind. I saw the boy on This Morning on ITV, but I didn't watch the programme. I'm not sure if I believe in reincarnation, but I'd love to be regressed and see if anything happens.

Len of the Chilterns Report 20 Sep 2006 22:46

Being born curious, albeit sceptical, I asked my psychologist friend if I may be regressed. He declined to do it himself as he worried about professional ethics (he knew too much about me) but gave me the address of another hypnotherapist, a complete stranger to me. I made an appointment with this person in Aylesbury and duly submitted myself for the treatment which, 15 years ago, cost me £75. Personally, I thought I could not be hypnotised but was wrong. I was well impressed with the experiment. len
