I think that GR is getting back to being a nice friendly place now....... Some people have commented that it is very quiet, but I would opt for that rather than the backbiting and nasty undercurrents...... What is also very heartening is seeing new names doing look-ups on the Tips and Records Board, that in my mind is a positive step in the right direction.....G.

I think some people are still a bit wary of the boards hence the quietness, but time as they say is a great healer and it will get busier, Perhaps!!!!

Yes, I think as time goes on, people will feel more confident about posting on the boards.

It will take a while but I think that it is encouraging to see peole 'stepping out of the shadows' and posting.

I agree with Jacqui, today is about the first time I've started coming on here again though feel something is missing (but not the arguments) lets hope it gets back to normal soon Norah

I think that Genes have achieved what they set out to achieve - a clean sweep, a clean slate and a whole new group of people posting on the boards who know little and care less about what happened. Anyone who retired pending things settling down will return to a whole new scheme, atmosphere and set of names with hardly a trace of anything that went before, good or bad. Some people have long memories but most have very short ones. I'm sure Genes management is very happy with the outcome of their handiwork.

I am afraid I have to agrea with Felicity, and sadly memories are short, so all the people who helped with not just Genealogy queries, but members with problems behind the scenes in their own real lives will just be forgotten. A case of....as long as it wasn't me? Makes me a bit sad, oh and my thread must have been deleted, wonder what was added in my absence as it was fine when I left it :-(

PS sorry have to add not all of the members who have gone wanted to cause any trouble, and often strived to keep the peace...a clean sweep indeed

I wasnt really on the boards when all the trouble happened but I do send my sympathies to the lovely helpful peeps who were suspended, I hope we can all continue to help each other and peeps will return, Cazx

i think we all have had time to reconcider whats important.i know my tree is top of my list.i miss members ,and there never far from my thoughts,or messenger.but its nice newbies are coming on,thats a good sign.i feel a pop quiz coming on,lol.maybe tomoz eh,[it takes me ages to sort one out.] time for peace and quiet and fun.lets all chill.hugs to all,xxxxxxjoy

Yes Joy it is always lovely to have a nice newbie on board and a new friend in our lives. But you can replace things, never people, or maybe I am too sentimental and loyal for my own good.

Please don't get upset if you haven't got a tip to give Meercat. Loads of people are giving tips and maybe you just haven't been asked the right question.
