Mike my Dad used to tell tales of during the war when his Dad had a small holding and the pigs kept the family well fed, Grandma prepared them herself > Dad told my son a funny story the other day, he won a place at grammar school but didnt like some of the snobs there, One day when asked to play tennis he said ' no thanks I'm spending the afternoon straightining nails at the pig shed !!! ' My family havent changed much, Catherine have I told you I'm bringing a few nails........LOL! Cazxxxxxxx

Catherine, mum worked for Italian people for over 40 years and has only just retired, so I got fed up of pasta etc years ago and I cant stand the smell of the cheese on top of it. My OH loves Italian food so one day a week we have a DIY night where you get your own meals so that he can have pasta LOL

Mike, my mum probably could relate to you, more than me she loves all that kind of thing she is 82 now and still goes the market for things. Mum like you always said there is nothing on a pig you cannot eat. Well I enjoyed my pigs belly, it was so good it didnt touch my palate.

I agree Sunshine there were only good old fashioned English ones, proper chippies in them days always remember mum saying stick your head out the front door and see if the chippie is open, cos it was at the top of our street. She tell you what she wanted then, when you asked could you have some chips she would say no you can have some of mine. LOL every thursday night which was pay day was chippie night for mum.
