Well this is stirring old memories.....Listen with Mother on radio, is one of the first I remember.....Mum used let me listen to it with her, then put me to bed and she would listen to her Woman's Hour in peace. I also remember Dad getting me up late at night to listen to Rocky Marciano and other boxers coming over from America live... Did'nt have a telly until ITV first broadcast, but watched Rag Tag & Bobtail, Bill, Ben and Weee-eeed and dear old Muffin on a neighbours telly.......does anyone remember an American lady with a sock puppet called Lamb Chop? Also something with Larry the Lamb, and he always said @Oh Mr. Maaaayyyyor@ in a bleating voice.....Toytown maybe... I have to smile to myself when my three 'kids' (late 20s and early 30s) plus my niece, reminisce over the programmes they used to love on television......Clangers, Button Moon, Magic Roundabout.....and the one with the old shop with a.....I remember, its Bagpuss..... |
