That's beautiful Jennifer. It says it all really.

Jennifer that is lovely - and I am reduced to tears. It is very special because you wrote it, for your Stephen. You, his Mum, knew him better than anybody. Thankyou for sharing it with us. Janet

Such beautiful verses - I shall copy them all and keep them safe. My ex boss is being cremated tomorrow, and altho I am glad cos he will be reunited with his wife, I feel sad because he has no children and only his inlaws to mourn him.

Thank you all for your beautiful words of comfort, they all had a very special line or two, that related to how I am feeling, so I think I have got my reading, but please tell me if I have got it wrong, as this is so important to me, seems like these will be the last words to my Stephen. You have gone from my sight Son, I cannot hold your hand or see your face, all I have left is raw pain and grief, and very little hope. There was so much more I had to say to you, so much more I had hoped we could do. but now, one last thing I ask of you, Please help me cope with the pain, help me to heal again, There is no right or wrong way, I must find my own path, my own inner Peace, Stephen, Please Son, will you walk beside me, till I reach the shores of heaven, when please God, we shall meet agin.

Jennifer, those words are lovely and they are your own, which is nice, but please don't think they are the last words you will say to Stephen, you can talk to him whenever you want to, you don't even have to say the words out loud, he will know what you are thinking when you have him in your mind. I will tell you something else, as time goes on, you will find he is not in your thoughts every minute of every day, but don't feel guilty when that happens, when you realise you have not thought about him for a little while, because it is part of the healing and it means he is helping you to move on with life. You have the others in your family to help you go through the rest of your life and they will need you to be happy and healthy, until the time comes when your earthly work is done, and you can go to meet Stephen with pride at your own courage and with contentment because you have done all you can for the family and others, and as importantly, for yourself.Give yourself some tlc every day. In answer to a request to post this poem on this thread, I would be delighted. Words of Comfort. Feel no guilt in laughter They know how much you care, Feel no sorrow in a smile That they're not here to share, You cannot grieve forever They would not want you to, They'd hope that you would carry on The way you always do, So talk about the good times And the way you showed you cared, The days you spent together All the happiness you shared, Let the memories surround you A word someone might say Will suddenly recapture A time, an hour, a day That brings them back so clearly As though they were still here And fills you with the feelings That they are always near, For if you keep those moments You will never be apart And they will live forever Locked safe within your heart. Lots of love Jeff xx

Beautiful words from so many people. May I add one sent to me by a dear friend when my Dad passed? Somewhere a journey begins at the end of the worldly existence we know. Somewhere a path stretches over the stars and rivers of memories flow. Somewhere a silence is heard far away and the brightness of day fills the night and the trials of life are resolved into peace when a soul finds it's way to the light. Perhaps someone knows who wrote this lovely piece. Susan xx

Remember Me, by Lynn New No pain beyond, no tears, no fear. No thoughts of death for I'm still near. No hugs I know, nor sweet caress, But I'm still close to love and bless. No quiet word, nor gentle touch, But don't despair ~ I love you much. No gesture kind, to show I care; The veil's drawn, but I'm still there. Grieve not too long ~ but look around, In earthly things I shall be found. A falling leaf, a growing tree, In every breeze you will feel me. I walk in life' death holds no pain. Be Reassured, we'll meet again.
