Help. Daughter will be presenting us with first grandchild in a few weeks time, and OH and me can't decide what we'd like to be known as. My parents are nan and grancha; and OH parents nannie and grampy to daughters. I don't really fancy being known as Grandma, but can't hink of anything else. Does anyone have any suggestions. Thanks

my dads parents were nan and grampy and mums dad was granddad . My parents are granny and grampy and OH parents were gtranny and granddad OH dad to his other grandchildren was Buzzdad

Sadly my kids only have one set of grandparents and they are nanny and grandad. however, if my in laws were still about we would have used nanny...... name, grandad ......name Congrats on the impending birth by the way xx

My grandparents have always been Nanny and Granddad And Nanna and Grampa. My greatgrandparents were Granny and Grancha. My cousin's children call grandparents and greatgrandparents Nanny 'name' and Grampy 'name'. One set od my dad's grandparens were Nain (nine) and taid (tied) which are varients of Mam-gi and Tad-ci (welsh for nan and grandpa).

I called mine Nanny and Grandad, only had one set. However due to two relationships, my kids have tons of grandparents. His mum is granma His dad is Granpa. My mum is granny Chris. My ex mum in law is Nut nanny ( she once said to the kids oh dear your nannyis a nutter, and was for a while, nutter nanny, but it got shortened) Ex father in law is grandad My Nan is other Nanny cos when i mentioned her the kids used to say... Granny Chris??? Nut Nanny??? and i'd say no other nanny and it stuck!!!! Tho niece calls her Sutton Nanny cos thats where they meet!!! His Nan is Nanny to her face and Nanny Kit behind her back, as we felt it wasn't polite for the kids to use her christian anme to her face. So in reality it can be anything you want, but choose wisely cos names have a funny habit of sticking.

My elder Grandson has alway's called me his real Nan dont know how it come about, he calls his Dad's mum Nan and her name, he has 4 Grt Grandmothers in all still alive, The little one calls me nannie and his other gandparents grandma's, They call there grandads, grandad lILX

My sons' children call us grandad and nan they call the inlaws grandad peter and nanny jill daughters children call us grandad and nan(nie) inlaws ganpa and granma

Congratulations! We are called Mimi and Bigpop. On a recent visit to the UK (we are in the US) our soon-to be-3-year-old grandaughter insisted on saying 'Pigbop' which might just stick, as everyone (including Pigbop himself) thinks it's so cute to hear her little girl voice saying it. Not to be recommended for everyone though! :-)

Because I have been a Nanny to other peoples children, I wanted to be called Granny. My Mother i(Letty) is Gran to my children & Granny Lettuce to my Grandchildren. ( My Eldest Grandson thought this was her name, & it just stuck!)

My husbands aunt was called up one nan by her great grandson because he couldn't say other nan lol. Jenny
