Just looked like an attempt to cause trouble to me. As is usual with phantom nudges. Gwynne

phantom nudges dont cause trouble, its the thread content that does that! Bob

Paul Report 27 Nov 2006 16:15

Lynda, you make a valid point, if someone else had added the thread, say someone who had just joined the site in the last 24 hours, the mass ranks would have no doubt agreed with them wholeheartedly

Well Bob ... if phantom nudges aren't meant to cause trouble why do it?.... so much easier to leave a name and then we all know who it is. Seems to me the only threads that are phantomly nudged are the controversial ones. I find that quite strange. Jean.

Well, Bob, you certainly wanted to draw attention to to this thread - I just think it would have been more honest to have left the nudge. But maybe it's just me who thought it was snide to phantom nudge it. Gwynne Update. - I see that it isn't just me

Jean Is THIS a controversial thread?then, if so I will delete ALL my comments........

I don't find it strange at all Jean, and you've hit the nail on the head. Funny that there was a lot of fuss made about phantom nudging last week, wasn't there... I'm sure lots of people do it but wouldn't admit to it.

Hi all, I don't know which thread has been deleted...but just wanted to say with regard to 'phantom nudging', that in the early days on Genes Reunited, nudgers were actively encouraged by members to go back and delete the word 'nudge', as it was deemed to make the thread look untidy! Seems that it is no longer considered 'etiquette' then? Dee x

I think nowadays its etiquette to leave your current nudged post, then delete older sell by date nudges to keep the thread tidy. Elaine x.

The way I've always done it is to leave my nudge on if its on the general board, or if it could in any way be called a contentious thread. However on the other boards, I would perhaps delete the nudge - fir instance if I was nudging Judys computer tips thread - noone cares who nudges it.

I delete nudges or leave them in when and where I want. I don't nudge contentious threads anonimously so I don't see that it matters.....so there! lol

Hiya All, Yet another complaint regarding one of Lynda's thread I see. I dont know what the thread was about and I wouldn't normally coment, but I feel that Lynda is now being picked on. If you don't like the threads added then why not stay away, its not that hard honest....:o) Jean and David.......hope you both feel well soon XX Suzy :o) x
