No Need Lesley...they made me smile :-)) Mags, thanks for your comments again. It does defeat the object, and the possible reason the boards have long quiet periods. I wait until all threads have been nudged before posting again myself. If I don't, then it gets lost among all the nudges. |

Me too - like I said before. I tend to skim past them, unseen because they are always 'there'. I can't be the only one to do that, so constant nudging defeats the object a bit. Mags x |

OK here it is again. Why do we see so many threads nudged up again and again, flooding the board with them? There is nothing at all wrong with the threads in themselves, many are worthy causes, many are good ongoing game threads. But...do we need to nudge them ALL at the same time, shoving newer threads, probably active topical threads at that, off of page 1? As someone said to me, if they are nudged up too often, people actually don't notice them. It would be far more effective if they were nudged once or twice a day, keeping them within the first few pages, and easily found. Also, coming in to the boards and seeing a page full of old threads puts some off bothering to post, as it doesn't seem as though anything else is actually going on. This is not pointed at anyone in particular, nor at any thread in particular, nor were any posts harmed in the making of this thread! ;-) |
