What's the weather like in Wales? Our son and daughter in law were due to drive up from Wales to Solihull tomorrow but as she is a new driver (son doesn't drive) and has not had much experience on motorways, we asked them to not come especially as it is so foggy here. We said we would go to them on Saturday but after driving around tonight, I think we may have to postpone until after Christmas. The fog was awful on the roads and if the motoorways are the same and still down to 30mph, we will spend the whole day travelling! I think I would prefer snow. It is prettier and at least you know what you can and can't do! Jacky :-) |

Jackie, I am pleased your OH arrived home safely. What part of Wales are you in? My son said earlier there was no sign of fog near them although they were showing on the TV as being as bad as we are. They live near Neath. Jacky :-) |

Pembrokeshire, but my OH has travelled from Essex. He said Cardiff, Newport, Swansea and Carmarthen were bad but didn't go near Neath. Port Talbot was clear. Jackiexx |

I was driving in Norwich this evening around 7 pm and it wasn't too bad, arrived home safely, but was worried as my lad was out delivering pizzas on a scooter! (It is his part time job after his full time one, low wages here). He has called me to say he is home safe and sound, he knows I worry. I can't believe all you people around the area I visited in September, I did put up a thread before I visited Llanelli, but no one responded. Will try again when I visit my relative next year, I hope, and maybe I can meet up with some of you. Take care all who have to travel, if you take things slowly and are prepared, blankets in car, flask of coffee and sandwiches etc in case you have to pull over for a while, all lights in tip top condition, no dodgy bulbs. I can't understand these folk who drive with only one headlight working etc, they are a menace. Liz |
