I would prefer it if we unable to delete posts so that they can vanish without a trace. It might make people think more carefully about WHAT they post. It would also indicate that replies had been 'edited out', as the name would still be there, even though the comment itself may have been removed. Jay |

Ann, I wonder whether Jude was charged that price as she was rejoining and not upgrading/renewing. I sent an email to GR a cou-ple of weeks ago when the price increase was brought up on the boards and the reply said that they were price testing and the price was actually £9.95 to renew. Nice to know that Jude is coming back though! Jacky :-) |

If Constance has been removed from the site, due to contravening the rules, then hopefully she won't be able to stir things any more. However, most people obviously didn't understand the reasoning behind my suggestion that we delete our posts from the thread 'Who thinks'. I was not criticising, condemning or complaining about anyone's comment, merely suggesting that if we all deleted our words, the thread would collapse and it would show any stirrers or troublemakers, that we were above that, and wanted to keep the board a happier, caring one as it had been lately. Oh well, back to the drawing board. Merry Christmas! |

Sorry, off topic but an answer for Robin. Despite what it says Jude was charged £15 to re-join this week. she is now challenging this but don't know if she has heard anything. Ann Glos |

Hi Lesley I asked you to remove the thread as it was asking about what people wanted to do had they only 6 months to live, and the person who posted before i did also said the thread may upset or offend. There is a member who has terminal cancer and posts on the board frequently. I felt she wouldn't want reminding of her situation, so asked you to delete. and thank you for doing so Elaine x Ps everyone has the right to politely ask for a posts/threads removal if the content offends or upsets or may offend or upset. However only GR can force the issue |

well if no-one got a valid reason then not on!!! I'm glad you deleted the Ipswich one. Think you realised after you posted it. So well done for deleting it. People don't delete offensive stuff cos they want to leave it and cause trouble. The worst culprits in my eyes are the one's that add at ungodly hours cause loads of aggro, then delete before GR get in-that's got to be the lowest of the low in my opinion. catherine xx |

think we got crossed wires here Catherine. None of my comments were deleted but I have been told to delete stuff recently for no valid reasons. Not referring to the Ipswich one. I deleted as the first comment said they thought it was a bit sick so I deleted that as I didnt want to upset anybody. But recently I have been told to delete stuff which is still on here because it is not ofensive or crude or breaking any rules. Yet the same people refuse to delete their own threads in order to get into the christmas spirit. |

If you add to a thread and it's not offensive, rude or breaks the T & C of GR then there is no need to delete a comment. The only time I would ever do that if someone specifically asked me politely cos I had offended them. So LLC don't know why your previous comments were deleted. catherine xx |

I wish I hadn't been filled with the spirit of good will now and deleted my posts *resists temptation to say 'I told you so'.* In case anyone is in any doubt I did report 'Constance', whoever he or she was, to abuse yesterday and this morning. Gwynne |

If the membership fee is now £15.00 I wonder how much more money 'Constance Wright' is prepared to spend for a 'little bit of fun'. More money than sense come to mind., Jean x. |

well well well here we go again. I have virtually given up posting anything on this site. I have had a couple of good connections this week so have been looking in. This thread was very well worded at the beginning so well done to you for a very good effort. But then you get people saying they will not delete and yet only recently the same people had told me to delete things I had put which were really meant as a joke and didnt need deleteing. So its another case of double standards upsetting the boards yet again. |

I agree with Jean and Elaine I didn't add to it cos I thought it was a load of crapony. It was obviously put up to get people's backs up. Don't know who constance is don't really care-people constantly keep changing their names is a pain, they obviously get some pleasure out of it. catherine xx |

I wont be removing my posts I second everything Jean has said. Its the second time the person in question has attacked me on my anti bullying thread, not to mention the digs on my conga thread a few days ago. no new member unatatched from the first would do something identical to what her namesake did . Its easy to say ignore when you have not been attacked by this person , but im not going to ignore and let this person carry on their tirade against me. Sorry Elaine x |

Personally I do not think any one should delete their posts unless they are sorry for what they said. If they do an explanation should be left as to why they retract. I did not add to the thread because it was obvious to me that it was posted purely to stir up trouble and Constance's post on the anti-bullying thread confirmed this. Just because it is supposedly the 'season of goodwill to all men' doesn't mean that people can be allowed to post anything they please on this board and we should ignore it. If Constance is genuine about her thread and it was an honest question it might be a good idea if she backed it up by letting us know what pseudonym she uses on the 'other side'. Jean. |

I do wonder why Constance has only returned to reply to me, and in the way that he /she has. Pretty obvious though I guess. if making an anagram out of her/his name is the most offensive thing on the thread, the thing he/she finds the most objectional then i am surprised If Constance is a member on FTF ,then what i say IS correct - and the thread she started is point in case - bored there, so came over here and was potentially contraversial. Her crtisisim in my turning the thread into toilet humour, was,as I said and appologised for, was in an attempt to turn the thead into humour- obviously failed. pretty pointles to delete my replies now |
