are in your area Please. Mainly need the North-West,North-East,Derbyshire and the North of Wales.Yorkshire. Just asking as there are quite a few OAP's that like to go on Coach trips on Sundays and I would like to be able to tell them that we can go to different places in the Spring,Summer and the Autumn. We have already been to Whitby,Robin Hood's Bay,Scarborough,Bridlington,Filey,Beverley,The Deep at Hull,Hartlepool Maritime Experience, Castle Howard,Chatsworth House,LLandudno,Blackpool Illuminations. Need to suggest to them other places to visit so they have good days out instead of being stuck in the houses/flats 24/7. Thanks for your help. Sue |

Might be a bit far for a day trip, but here in Norwich we have the castle and military museum, two shopping malls, the historic (though newly re-vamped) marked, two cathedrals, C of E and RC, and what seems like millions of churches, Elm Hill, which hasn't changed in the 400 years or so since it was built, Dragon Hall, and even a tour bus! |

Hi Sue, Raby castle is lovely, you can go into the castle and see the rooms and then go into the grouds, they have a stable block with a cafe and shop as well. Ripley is also really nice, castle shops lovely old vilage church and old village and fab homemade icecream. You could always come back to the Travellers rest sometime and the older ones can go for a paddle at Seaton carew!!! :-) Carol xx |

Lol, Carol, have only been to Seaton Carew once. There were negative notices everywhere: Do NOT lean against this window Do not drop litter here - put it in the bin Do not park here etc etc Is it the residents who are naughty, or the rest of us??? (yes, I did have a paddle) Jay |

Beamish Museum is worth a visit - can't remember exactly where it is but somewhere in Co. Durham. Durham itself is also a lovely place. In Yorkshire they might enjoy trips to TV land - Heartbeat country around Goathland, Last of the Summer wine Holmfirth and Emmerdale in the Dales - can't remember the name of the village where the Woolpack is. Have fun Kate |

Already been mentioned but York has several museums and shopping. The National Railway Museum - free admission, a very large museum, cafe and restaurent (expensive eating tho'). Would probably be of interest to both sexes as in addition to loco's there's also royal carriages, massive collections of artifacts etc etc. There's the Castle Museum with a Street Setting in one part and covers all sorts of things admission charge applies tho, been there and enjoyed it. The the Jorvic trip admission charges apply, never tried it but it's underground in Viking ere complete with pongs! Trips on the river. Can walk 'the walls' in some places. There's York Minster but again a charge is made. Some other museums as well. Couldn't take it all in in a day. Hope this helps. Ron |
