That's true June, and to be fair, my husband likes lots of films that are generally considered to be 'girlie movies' and doesn't like 'shoot 'em up and kill 'em stuff' as he calls it much at all. He'll often choose a romantic comedy for us to snuggle up and watch together, so I'm not complaining! :-) |

Aww, June! What a shame! I guess I'm lucky that my husband's and my tastes overlap such a lot and like little that the other finds unbearable. Occasionally he or I will watch a film alone that we know the other really will not like but it's rare occurance. Your husband runs the risk of missing films that he might like after all - and your good company of course!! |

Frances, yes we have seen it three times and would go again tomorrow if I could. No I haven't read the book, strange that as I read so much. Carousel was the first film OH and I saw togather in 1956 and the first LP I ever owned which he bought me for my 16th birthday which is why it is a favourite. and, yes, it makes me cry too. Especially the bit where Billy comes back and his daughter is playing on the sand and he sings 'My little girl'. Then when they sing when you walk through a storm. Isn't it daft when you cry at films you have seen over and over (I can even cry at White christmas!!!!) and yet you know it isn't true? ann Glos |

Don't mean to butt in, Ann, but people should be soppy at any age!! It's what makes the world go round after all! :-) If I Loved You is one of my favourites too. |
