Hi Bryan :-) If both are young then it's probably the best time to do this. Try it in small doses at first see how they take to each other increasing it each time. This may mean keeping the kitten in one room (I'm assuming the kitten is the newcomer) for a while but chances are if they accept each other quickly that won't last for long. Juliexx

Hi Bryan, we've got 2 cats and 3 dogs of varying ages. The labrador thinks she is a cat and winds round your legs like cats do because we had her as a puppy with a kitten at about the same time. Eldest cat is very aloof, hates dogs but is not afraid so if they step out of line they get a whack on the nose from her. Both cats sleep upstairs but the dogs are shut in the kitchen. Dogs love litter trays. Our 2 younger dogs are terriers and, apart from being kept in line by eldest cat, they are wary of youngest cat even though she is a little nervous. The only thing I do different is feed the cats up on a work top (hygienic, I know) because it gives them a bit of piece from being sniffed and no-one eats their food. Oh, and small dogs can get through the cat flap so that needs some thought. Enjoy!!!
