I do not want to rake up old slanging matches but seeing as my name was mentioned and I have been worrying the past few days over this I have decided to put my side across. Was mentioned on Friday night about the Treasure hunt proceeds being given to a GR members support site. I did this game with the intention of having fun and to raise money for charity and the winner got to chose where the proceeds went to I just had to pass the money on. When I was asked that the money be given to the site I was told it was not a charity but that is where the winner wanted the money to go so I sent a cheque which as it has been cashed I know it got there after that I don’t know what the money has been used for. If anyone feels misled by all of this because I did say would be given to charity please pm me and I will try and sort something out with you (away from the boards) as it was not my intention to deceive anyone. I have made nothing out of this as was the case when I did the Tick Tock Box where the money went to the Sahara Trekkers via the Pink Fund they were both done as my way of helping others in what I hoped would be a positive way. Please do not use this thread to start up sniping at each other I just need people to know that I did it with good intentions and not to mislead you, if you use this to start a word war again I will delete it.

Dawn, I sometimes think because this site gives you anonimity some people are 'brave' enough to throw sticks and stones. I suspect a face to face confrontation would not be in their abilities. There are ways of complaining and my past master at this is Him indoors. he is so diplomatic when making a complaint that I feel soooo sorry for the person at the end of his tongue. There are no shouts, waves or naughty words, everything is dealt with in such a way that other people in the shop do not know a complaint is being made. The thing to remember is...Don`t shoot the messenger....after all, the person you are complaining to is only the messenger of your complaint. Kathlyn

Dawnie.... you are one of the most honest people I know..... do not let small minded people question that!! This has happened in the past when people question my honesty with the pink fund and as I said to them.... I can prove where the money went so its up to you to prove I am lying.... they never progressed their threats and just proved themselves to be sad f***wits! Don't let anyone stop you doing the good you have done!! Be proud that you are doing something worthy! xx

Dawn you have done nothing wrong. As I've just said on Dave's thread I have no problem with the money going to Strump's site and I can't see why anyone else has, after all it's going to a place that helps people.

Hi Dawn and Donna, I asked at that time for the money to go to Donna's support site as I knew there were overheads that were being paid out of Donna's pocket. I knew at the time and still know that the site is not registered as a charity. That in no way makes me want to change my mind about the donation as I feel and I am sure there are many others, that the site is worthwhile and is helping people. So Dawn please stop worrying as you did nothing wrong. You raised money for a good cause and it went to a good cause. Donna will you also stop worrying about it. Jacky x

Hi Dawnie, Please dont question or indeed explain,,,,,,,,,,,,,,YOU acted on what was requested of the winner nothing more, It was up to the winner what they did with their prize,whether it be to a named charity or throw it in the street, If you had no named charity or a list who would benifit from the money then you have nothing to explain, Chin up,

Dawn I really wouldn't worry about anything said in the ramblings of the idiot that posted the other night - they were obviously out to cause trouble for whatever twisted reason and today shows that they are succeeding. I can only echo what others have said here - just ignore.

Dawn , why is it when people like yourself and others do good turns they are slagged off--maybe not the right word but you know what I mean. Others have collected for sick people and comments have been made. You have a heart of gold like others who have their own medical problems to content but still think of others. Hi Dawn :):) I hope you do not mind me adding this here also. As I see things you have no reason to explain yourself over this at all. Hold you head up proud dont let things get to you Hi All I do not generally add to these type of threads but there comes a time when something really does need to be said and for me that time is now. Like Jim and many others I have been around since the very early stages of this site. I have seen jelousy and backstabbing in action both on and off the site and never got involved for fear of upsetting other good people who often support me in what I do. But I am appalled that just how low somethings can get. Ive been there for three years Ive been there, jelousy behind the scenes, constantly putting people down just because they try to do something good for people. Some people just do not know what is good for them, yes there are genuine people out there willing to work our butts off for nothing just to help you. Can you not see beyond your noses sometimes or do you not have a mind of your own to make your own opinions of people. Its disgusting to see grown ups acting in this type of manner. No I dont have to become involved and no i dont have to read the threads thats my perogative to, But for petes sake start to make up your own minds what it is you want, get off the helpful good peoples backs and start to enjoy life again, As I see this, money was raised for a good cause and it is being used on a good cause with the agreement of all involved.
