MarcasO Report 20 Feb 2007 19:22

Anyone seen this show? Missed the first 2 this week. On at 9.15 in the morning so we are at work. Been told they do someones genealogy to find missing relatives but make a game show out of it. That doesnt sound nice.

Sue In Yorkshire. Report 20 Feb 2007 19:26

They don't actually do any Geneaology for the person just medical tests ie Cholestrol,BP,Lung/breathing. Then sculpture of the face test to see if either eyes, chin, cheekbones even ears match. Personaalt it isn't worth watching. Suexxxxx

Kay???? Report 20 Feb 2007 19:29

Not quite as expected,,,,,to long ,to drawn out,,,,,,and lots of information that probally is relevent to family research,,but not quite so for the people being re-united----,at that stage,,, Looks like its going to go down the same road everyday,,,,,,,,,but then other viewers may find all parts of the programe very intresting,,,,,,,, ,,condenced down it could be a 5 minute show,,,,,,,, All in all nothing to really get excited about ......

Hi Sue, , Glad you brought that up,,,,,all these tests they do regards mannerisms being part of the genetic make up,,,I dont think I really buy that one,,,,,,,,, ,,as my OH, has similar looks ,actions.ways and even spoke the very same as his dad,,,,,,but my OH was adopted so how come this?no he was not the bio father,or even could be,,,

I watched it this morning, and was very disappointed. It got boring after the first 5 mins, because of the sheer amount of time wasted re-capping on what they'd done - as though the viewer and the woman searching for her brothers were all absolute dimwits and had to have it shown over and over and over again. Duurrrrrrr. They did nothing but keep repeating before going on to the next tiny step, and then repeat the whole thing again....the programme itself could have lasted 10 minutes, but they, for some unknown reason, saw fit to waste the whole half hour(?) of the programme. Why waste so much time? It was absolutely infuriating and I won't be wasting my morning again. K

Well, I'm glad that I wasn't meant to be on that tv programme then. They contacted me through email and asked me to phone them...which I did, with all of the details, they said it would be shot in London and on 'location' giving me all the lowdown on what's gonna happen when or if they find ******. BUT....they said it would be difficult!!!!! Did they ring back....did they eckers like!!!!...... AND I have found one of them myself......... **Blows a raspberry to them** Who says proffessionals are good? Glad I missed it then, if it sounds the way that you are all saying!!!! (A load of rubbish). Stella X

very boring - too repetetive, only carried on watching to see if I had guessed correctly the missing brother (no I got it wrong) will not be bothering again. Joy

To be honest was dissapointing! I think I'll write and ask them to do a show that will help us family tree pepes overcome their brickwalls--you know-get people to write in with their wall and help them solve it---I wish--it would be popular though Carol

Sue in Somerset

Sue in Somerset Report 20 Feb 2007 23:04

I don't know why they didn't just do a DNA test and leave it at that. The rest of it was all waffle. I've noticed that a number of programmes these days seem to think we have the memory span of a goldfish or something. They keep recapping and repeating what we've already seen. It certainly makes a short programme longer but really boring. Sue

I recorded it this morning (Tues) but haven't watched it yet, o.h. said he caught bits of it when he was in the room and thought it very repetitive, and also said dna would have done the trick, not all that faffing about. So won't bother recording any more.
