Went to the gym and pumped iron. On the way home picked up wife's prescription at the pharmacy. Had to rush back before they closed as they had given her someone else's pills. Finally got home and opened a bottle of red wine which should be available on prescription but ain't.. len

I looked up all the registration district references for 4 surnames for the years 1984 to 2004 in the death index on Ancestry. This was to help a friend with her one-name study. Tedious but necessary.... and I hadn't realised how the references had changed so much in more recent years. Gwyn

I had an afternoon in the garden - first time in ages - putting in a few plants and making more plans. I did get rained on but it was so lovely to be outside.

I had an appointment with the dental hygienist......£35 for ten minuites!! I then went to the gym for 2 hours.

I went over my dads who is 89 and lives on his own to change his bed and do his washing for him. Jenny

Well I had a very instructive afternoon after watching Bob the Builder think I can now tackle the roof tiles and then for afters we watched Rudolph the Red Nose Reindeer where Billy and I had a sing-a-long of course we had chocolate fingers and a cuppa to go with it - great Norah

You all put me to shame.....I spent the afternoon in bed ! Was awake all night, in pain, with a nasty abscess so I suppose I can be excused. Beryl x

Hello June, I feel a bit guilty reading what everyone else has been doing this afternoon as all I've done is look at all the threads on here and watch a film we videod last night, Message in a Bottle - (horrible wet day here and I was busy with grandsons last week as they were on half term) mind you I was knitting a cardy for great-grandaughter at the same time as the latter so I wasnt entirely idle! Found out a couple of old photos of me in the guides too many years ago to mention as I found a thread about who was in the guides and brownies.

June I'm training to me a Children's Nurse for all my sins, have night shifts this weekend hence getting food and uniform ready this time of day to go out.

Went for a swim, came back and ate ... ... pancakes with raspberries and cafe latte ice-cream (Yummy - licks lips) - then finished a Book Review I had to write for a course I'm doing, ironed, watched Countdown, cooked dinner and came on here! That was more than enough for a day off - especially as I had cleaned through the house this morning. Kate

Thanks June, it will teach me to clean more often.....actually it is clean, just untidy.....got daughter's in-laws to be round for dinner Saturday, and she (his mum) went to catering college, and he only eats plain food.....so bang goes all my fancy dishes with sauces then, doesn't like garlic either, and I love it.....and son has asked me to have my two granddaughters on Saturday, so I will have to get my act together......and maybe have a few drinks before......

Did laundry, paid rent, made important call 2 times left a messages and still waiting to be phoned back, emptied bathroom of rubbish (shampoo bottles), just going to make food and iron uniform before getting ready for work. not back since 3pm! also made the same call this am and left a message then! will try again tomorrow - early - and ask if there is anyone who might know.
