Smith was her first love, but he returned to England, and she was told he was dead. She did meet him again when she came to England, but didn't pursue him as she was married. This was the last time she saw him. |

I did a course last year about the Thames from source to estuary and we covered Gravesend on that, it has a fascinating history, as does Tilbury, just over the river from there ;-)) |

After several 'affairs' she finally married a John Rolfe. They came back to England in 1616. They decided to go back home in 1617, but she became ill with pneumonia and died (1617) she was buried in a churchyard , the one near the ferry.She was 22 when she died, and yes, she was indeed a princess in the Algonquian tribe of Indians. |
