pmsl Joy, poor cat! Maggie, I am wondering how you knew your stray cat was already named Sophie, did she introduce herself? My pets always had relatively normal names. My friend's cat was called Sooty, but she was white! Young chap moved in up the road a year or two ago, and I saw he had a cat, and asked the name. He told me he feels really silly now calling here in, cos her name is Babe, and he thinks we will all wonder what he is up to! Knew someone else who called their cat Mr Smith, were so embarrassed when they moved and called the cat, their next door neighbour popped his head over the fence to see what they wanted!

i bought my daughter a rabbit and she called him fairy Princess rabbit smiff ( yes him) Rosex

Joy, mad and fun I can do, cope with all the rubbish elsewhere, no thanks! I come on here to be cheered up and this thread has helped, unlike others. Rose, love the rabbits name, sounds like my o.h. he is a smiff! lol

PP. Colin the crab died two years ago and my s.i.l still insists he is only sleeping. When we went on holiday last year he found a dead crab on the beach he called that Kevin and said it was Colins brother. :>)) Beryl x

i had a tortie cat called touchwood and a tabby called ugly mug

Many years ago my brother had rabbits called Charles and Diana they had babies Prince, Beauty and Beast (named by my daughters and neice as they liked Disney film at time) Kath

My friend has a pet rat called Diana, its male lol.

when i worked in the vets if kids come in and wanted to know weather there pet was a boy or girl we asked if they were going to breed it if not we said whats its name if it was jessica then we said its a girl or freddie we said its a boy then we whisper to the parent iwhat ever it was for real never wanted to disapoint the child there was no charge for sexing animals

had a dog called Eric, but i always wanted 3 dogs, called Sit, Stay, and Walkies

My Dad called our first dog Ranji - I think it was the name of a well-known Indian cricketer at the time (early 60s) - but I'm not 100% sure!

We had a cat called 'Bounce' cause he had 3 legs - awwwwww and he was a gorgeous russian blue:o)))) jude sarf wales :o)
