One of my favourites in the fifties was Eddie Calvert. He topped the charts on Radio Luxembourg for weeks. Oh mein papa and cherry pink and apple blossom white. He was a brilliant trumpet player. I believe he started off in a brass band in Preston. Jeff

Hi June Yes he started out in a coffe shop. He was in a skiffle group with Lionel Bart at one time. His 'only' No 1 was Singing the Blues in 1956 and Handful of Songs was released in 1957 Do you remember him doing Nairobi? :-))

Little White Bull, by Tommy Steele, was released as a 45 and a 78 I had an old wind up record player as a child so my Dad managed to get me it on a 78, that and a Cliff record. I still have them One of my late Dad's favourites was the late Diana Coupland singing A Guy is a Guy Dee xx
