Arguing with my father to watch Top of the Pops - I was fourteen. Long, long hair that Dad called curtains. An obnoxious little brother. Treasure magazine, NME, Chelsea Girl shops, Double Deckers, the Glitter Band, Sweet, The Osmonds (cheers!), trouser suits, midi skirts, love beads, Johnny Reggae, Skinheads and Greasers, and that's just for starters. |

I was seventeen, and it was the year before I met my husband to be. I had just started work, and thought I was earning a fortune I think it was about £11. To get into the local dance hall was 50p, I remember, and I saw bands such as, the glitter band, mud, cockney reble, there. You wouldn't get that today lol. Young free and happy, now I'm still happy but attached for the last 27 years. But alas not so young and innocent. Joy |
