Sadly I can't remember. One thing I can't stand is hearing children call their parents by their Christian names and not using those special titles of Mum(my) and Dad(dy). Liz |

Hi Penny. Just wondering if you do or do not want your children to call you mummy? I live in Scotland, and maybe things are a wee bit different up here. But I still refer to my mother as Mammy, and I am a grandmother myself. I lost my father when I was 31, and he was still always my daddy.I will be 50 next year, by the way! It doesn't matter what they call you, so long as they acknowledge who you are. Gail |

I have alway's been mum even when they were little. Easier for them to say. Also saves them changing when they get older. I think mummy is for little ones, thats my opinion :(( Marion |

I stopped calling my mother 'mummy' at 13 when all my friends laughed at me. All my children call me Mum (youngest is 15) except when they want something. About the posh people hypothesis. I have some friends whom you might consider 'posh' whose children say Mum, even the 5 yr old, and, to be a tease, the only family I know who refer to themselves as mummy and daddy are really ordinary nice people but who, if I dare say it, feel they are something different. If you catch my drift!! Good friends of mine but with a few pretensions! I love 'em just as they are though!!!! |
