I'll be graduating from De Montfort University in Leicester this July, having spend three years doing a BA Hons in Graphic Design and Photography. In fact, today, we've all been in the pub on the edge of the Grand Union canal because the deadline for putting our work out for assessment was 4pm today. Got some time off now (thank goodness) but have to go in on Thursday so I'm going to be productive and use the time to go to the Leicestershire records office. I'm so into 'work' mode I just don't think I can sit and do nothing for a week.

Messy Misa - I kind of agree with you there. I only did mine because I was a single parent living on zilch, and they still had grants (just!) so I thought I may as well learn on zilch so tried to see if I could blag my way into the local uni - and I did!!! Youngest did a 'sensible' degree in Geography & geology, is now working in Planning and will be doing her Masters (paid for by the firm) next year. :o) I tried to get on a graduate teacher course (where you learn 'on the job'), but when I got the forms, they only wanted those of an 'ethnic origin' - whatever that is - I'm Ethnic english, but it doesn't count, apparently - or men!!! Talk abour blatant discrimination!!! maggie

Coleg y Prifysol Abertawe - degree in Welsh History - utterly useless - not used it since the day I finished. Mr Medlock on the other hand is a graduate of the University of Life, having been kicked out of school at 15 as unteachable and has far more survival skills than me! I'm good at pub quizzes, but hopeless at working out odds or darts finishes!

Everyone I know who's been to university has ended up with a job totally unrelated to their degree. I think university education is vastly over-rated - common sense is a much more useful attribute !

Do you know a Carly, has a little girl, pregnant now, got married last April? That is my girl!! Sorry Bendy Wendy, is kind of Uni related!! I'm not sure I have the brain cells left now though Ladybird, or the confidence, all that studying. What will oh do....grumble I'm not spending time with him! lol Nanna-Moo ;-))
