He may be my King one day, in that I have no choice. She will never be my queen. Don't care what they call her!!!!!. Hilary. x |

It doesn't much matter whether we want them or nor - Charles will be King unless he dies before his mother. That's the constitution and we are stuck with it. I'd rather not have a monarchy at all. Couldn't stand Diana either. Gwynne |

Technically, Charles was a widower when he married Camilla - she was a divorcee. This is why they did not actually marry according to the rites of the C of E. His sister was a divorcee when she remarried (her previous husband was still living) - she married according to the rites of the Church of Scotland. Jay |

All royal marriages are arranged, she wasnt deemed suitable because she wasnt a virgin , diana was picked and tested to make sure she was , he loved camilla but wasnt allowed to marry her the only one who had the guts to fight for the woman he loved was edward and he had to abdicate and live in exile , That is why so many have affairs because they cant marry who they want to princess margaret wasnt allowed to marry who she wanted to either. He is happy with camilla and diana knew the situation when they married she thought she could change him but unfortuantly she couldnt. It will make no difference to any of us who becomes king or queen its just a new head on our coins. lorraine |

If he couldn't marry Camilla way back because she wasn't a virgin, what i would like to know is, how on earth would any one in the 'firm' have found out? Tricia |

I thought our constitution stated that the Monarch was defender of the faith and could not be divorced. But then what do I know. Rules and laws seem to change to suit someone's convenience. |

I'd always wondered why Charles didn't marry Camilla in the first place....I know why now,but doesn't it seem such a silly,old-fashioned reason in this day and age?! Sandra. xxx |

I think she makes him very happy and 'manages' him well. They always have had traditional 'county' pursuits in common, and continue to enjoy these together. Mistakes were made in the past, but the past is always unalterable and has gone - nothing anyone can do to put the clock back. I'm sure they're not alone in both having to live with the knowledge of a failed partnership - I wish them a long and happy marriage. As for Queen consort, as far as I know, that is the official title for the wife of our King. Jay |

If Charles suceeds to the throne then it is very important that they be liked as a couple whether she be titled Queen Camilia or Mrs Windsor,or er indoors....they need to be seen to be liked &excepted by the Royal family as this will have a knock on effect to the Economy the Royals generate each year.from worldwide visitors,,,,,, If she/they are not liked then people wont want to support them,,,, Had the Royal procactol been as up-dated and a changed outlook as it is now,,,,then Charles and Camilia would have married many years ago and she would have been his first choice,,,,,,but as it was,,,, *,*,Heir to the throne just couldnt be seen to marry a lass with no title or history and born in Lambeth,**just plain Camilia Shand.------no it would never have washed,, I think he should be known as Edward the 6th as this will always remind the *FIRM* just what they did to that poor man and Mrs Simpson., Double - Double Standards come to mind, |

According to the constitution the wife of the King is Queen so that's it really. I'd rather we didn't have a royal family at all but while we have got one we get no choice in who is King or Queen. Camilla seems nice enough to me. I don't subscribe to the 'Diana was a saint' philosophy. Neither she nor her husband behaved well but that's the priviledged classes for you. Gwynne |

Diana learned to fight back and to play dirty but the establishment left her on her own from day one - but in the beginning she was a young girl in love and had he played fair - the marriage may have had a chance. |

I quite like Camilla and I, too, can see she has a good relationship with Princes William and Harry. Thats good enough for me, if they can accept her so can I. Tina x |
